1 Y ahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2 “ This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest,

«Questa è la legge relativa al lebbroso per il giorno della sua purificazione. Egli sarà condotto dal sacerdote.

3 a nd the priest shall go out of the camp. The priest shall examine him, and behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper,

Il sacerdote uscirà dall’accampamento e lo esaminerà. Se vedrà che la piaga della lebbra è guarita nel lebbroso,

4 t hen the priest shall command them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

ordinerà che si prendano, per colui che dev’essere purificato, due uccelli vivi, puri, del legno di cedro, dello scarlatto e dell’issopo.

5 T he priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

Il sacerdote ordinerà che si sgozzi uno degli uccelli sopra un vaso di terracotta contenente acqua di fonte.

6 A s for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.

Poi prenderà l’uccello vivo, il legno di cedro, lo scarlatto e l’issopo. Immergerà quelle cose, insieme con l’uccello vivo, nel sangue dell’uccello sgozzato sopra l’acqua di fonte.

7 H e shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field.

Aspergerà sette volte colui che deve essere purificato dalla lebbra; lo dichiarerà puro e lascerà l’uccello vivo andare libero per i campi.

8 “ He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.

Colui che si purifica si laverà le vesti, si raderà completamente i peli, si laverà nell’acqua e sarà puro. Dopo potrà entrare nell’accampamento, ma resterà sette giorni fuori della sua tenda.

9 I t shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off. He shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his body in water, then he shall be clean.

Il settimo giorno si raderà completamente i peli, il capo, la barba, le ciglia: si raderà insomma tutti i peli, si laverà le vesti e si laverà il corpo nell’acqua, e sarà puro.

10 “ On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without defect, and one ewe lamb a year old without defect, and three tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

L’ottavo giorno prenderà due agnelli senza difetto, un’agnella di un anno senza difetto, tre decimi di fior di farina, come oblazione, intrisa d’olio, e un log di olio.

11 T he priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed, and those things, before Yahweh, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

Il sacerdote che fa la purificazione presenterà colui che si purifica e quelle cose davanti al Signore, all’ingresso della tenda di convegno.

12 “ The priest shall take one of the male lambs, and offer him for a trespass offering, with the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh.

Il sacerdote prenderà uno degli agnelli e l’offrirà come sacrificio per la colpa, con il log d’olio, e li presenterà come offerta agitata davanti al Signore.

13 H e shall kill the male lamb in the place where they kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the place of the sanctuary; for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy.

Poi sgozzerà l’agnello nel luogo dove si sgozzano i sacrifici per il peccato e gli olocausti, vale a dire nel luogo sacro, poiché il sacrificio per la colpa appartiene al sacerdote, come quello per il peccato: è cosa santissima.

14 T he priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

Il sacerdote prenderà del sangue del sacrificio per la colpa e lo metterà sull’estremità dell’orecchio destro di colui che si purifica, sul pollice della sua mano destra e sull’alluce del suo piede destro.

15 T he priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.

Poi il sacerdote prenderà dell’olio del log e lo verserà nella sua mano sinistra;

16 T he priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before Yahweh.

quindi intingerà il dito della sua destra nell’olio che avrà nella sinistra, e con il dito farà sette aspersioni di quell’olio davanti al Signore.

17 T he priest shall put some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering.

Del rimanente dell’olio che avrà in mano, il sacerdote ne metterà sull’estremità dell’orecchio destro di colui che si purifica, sul pollice della sua mano destra e sull’alluce del suo piede destro, sopra il sangue del sacrificio per la colpa.

18 T he rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh.

Il resto dell’olio che avrà in mano, il sacerdote lo metterà sul capo di colui che si purifica; così il sacerdote farà per lui l’espiazione davanti al Signore.

19 “ The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness: and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering;

Poi il sacerdote offrirà il sacrificio per il peccato e farà l’espiazione per colui che si purifica della sua impurità; quindi scannerà l’olocausto.

20 a nd the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

Il sacerdote offrirà l’olocausto e l’oblazione sull’altare; farà per quel tale l’espiazione, ed egli sarà puro.

21 “ If he is poor, and can’t afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil;

Se quel tale è povero e non può procurarsi queste cose, prenderà un solo agnello da offrire in sacrificio per la colpa, come offerta agitata, per fare l’espiazione per lui, un solo decimo di un efa di fior di farina intrisa d’olio, come oblazione, e un log d’olio.

22 a nd two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

Prenderà anche due tortore o due giovani piccioni, secondo i suoi mezzi; uno sarà per il sacrificio per il peccato, e l’altro per l’olocausto.

23 “ On the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh.

L’ottavo giorno porterà, per la sua purificazione, queste cose al sacerdote, all’ingresso della tenda di convegno, davanti al Signore.

24 T he priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh.

Il sacerdote prenderà l’agnello del sacrificio per la colpa e il log d’olio e li presenterà come offerta agitata davanti al Signore.

25 H e shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering. The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

Poi scannerà l’agnello del sacrificio per la colpa. Il sacerdote prenderà del sangue del sacrificio per la colpa, lo metterà sull’estremità dell’orecchio destro di colui che si purifica, sul pollice della sua mano destra e sull’alluce del suo piede destro.

26 T he priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand;

Il sacerdote verserà di quell’olio nella sua mano sinistra,

27 a nd the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Yahweh.

e con il dito della sua mano destra aspergerà l’olio, che avrà nella mano sinistra, sette volte davanti al Signore.

28 T hen the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering.

Poi il sacerdote metterà dell’olio che avrà in mano sull’estremità dell’orecchio destro di colui che si purifica, sul pollice della sua mano destra e sull’alluce del suo piede destro, nel luogo dove ha messo del sangue del sacrificio per la colpa.

29 T he rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before Yahweh.

Il resto dell’olio che avrà in mano, il sacerdote lo metterà sul capo di colui che si purifica, per fare espiazione per lui davanti al Signore.

30 H e shall offer one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to afford,

Poi sacrificherà una delle tortore o uno dei due giovani piccioni che ha potuto procurarsi.

31 e ven such as he is able to afford, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meal offering. The priest shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed before Yahweh.”

Delle vittime che ha potuto procurarsi, una l’offrirà come sacrificio per il peccato e l’altra come olocausto, insieme all’oblazione; così il sacerdote farà l’espiazione davanti al Signore per colui che si purifica».

32 T his is the law for him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to afford the sacrifice for his cleansing.

Questa è la legge relativa a colui che è affetto da piaga di lebbra, e non ha i mezzi per procurarsi ciò che è richiesto per la sua purificazione. Purificazione delle case infette da muffa

33 Y ahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè e ad Aaronne, e disse:

34 “ When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a spreading mildew in a house in the land of your possession,

«Quando sarete entrati nel paese di Canaan, che io vi do come vostro possesso, se mando la macchia della muffa in una casa del paese che possederete,

35 t hen he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, ‘There seems to me to be some sort of plague in the house.’

il padrone della casa andrà a dichiararlo al sacerdote, dicendo: “Mi pare che in casa mia ci sia qualcosa di simile alla muffa”.

36 T he priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes in to examine the plague, that all that is in the house not be made unclean. Afterward the priest shall go in to inspect the house.

Allora il sacerdote ordinerà che si sgomberi la casa prima che egli vi entri per esaminare la macchia, affinché tutto quello che è nella casa non diventi impuro. Dopo questo, il sacerdote entrerà per esaminare la casa.

37 H e shall examine the plague; and behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and it appears to be deeper than the wall;

Esaminerà la macchia; se vedrà che la macchia che è sui muri presenta cavità verdastre o rossastre più profonde dell’intonaco,

38 t hen the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days.

il sacerdote uscirà dalla casa; e, giunto alla porta, farà isolare la casa per sette giorni.

39 T he priest shall come again on the seventh day, and look. If the plague has spread in the walls of the house,

Il settimo giorno il sacerdote vi ritornerà; e se, esaminandola, vedrà che la macchia si è allargata sulle pareti della casa,

40 t hen the priest shall command that they take out the stones in which is the plague, and cast them into an unclean place outside of the city:

il sacerdote ordinerà che se ne rimuovano le pietre sulle quali è la macchia e che si gettino in luogo immondo, fuori dalla città.

41 a nd he shall cause the inside of the house to be scraped all over, and they shall pour out the mortar, that they scraped off, outside of the city into an unclean place.

Farà raschiare tutto l’interno della casa e si butteranno i calcinacci raschiati fuori dalla città, in luogo impuro.

42 T hey shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house.

Poi si prenderanno delle altre pietre e si metteranno al posto delle prime, e si prenderà dell’altra calce per intonacare la casa.

43 “ If the plague comes again, and breaks out in the house, after he has taken out the stones, and after he has scraped the house, and after it was plastered;

Se la macchia riappare nella casa dopo averne rimosse le pietre e dopo che essa è stata raschiata e intonacata,

44 t hen the priest shall come in and look; and behold, if the plague has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew in the house. It is unclean.

il sacerdote entrerà a esaminare la casa; e se vedrà che la macchia si è allargata, nella casa c’è della muffa maligna; la casa è impura.

45 H e shall break down the house, its stones, and its timber, and all the house’s mortar. He shall carry them out of the city into an unclean place.

Perciò si demolirà la casa; se ne porteranno le pietre, il legname e i calcinacci fuori della città, in luogo impuro.

46 “ Moreover he who goes into the house while it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening.

Inoltre, chiunque sarà entrato in quella casa durante tutto il tempo che è stata isolata, sarà impuro fino alla sera.

47 H e who lies down in the house shall wash his clothes; and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes.

Chi avrà dormito in quella casa si laverà le vesti, e chi avrà mangiato in quella casa si laverà le vesti.

48 “ If the priest shall come in, and examine it, and behold, the plague hasn’t spread in the house, after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

Ma se il sacerdote che è entrato nella casa e l’ha esaminata vede che la macchia non si è allargata nella casa dopo che essa è stata intonacata, dichiarerà la casa pura, perché la macchia è sparita.

49 T o cleanse the house he shall take two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

Poi, per purificare la casa, prenderà due uccelli, del legno di cedro, dello scarlatto e dell’issopo;

50 H e shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

sgozzerà uno degli uccelli sopra un vaso di terracotta contenente dell’acqua di fonte;

51 H e shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times.

prenderà il legno di cedro, l’issopo, il panno scarlatto e l’uccello vivo, e li immergerà nel sangue dell’uccello sgozzato e nell’acqua di fonte, e aspergerà sette volte la casa.

52 H e shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, with the living bird, with the cedar wood, with the hyssop, and with the scarlet;

Purificherà la casa col sangue dell’uccello, con l’acqua di fonte, con l’uccello vivo, con il legno di cedro, con l’issopo e con il panno scarlatto;

53 b ut he shall let the living bird go out of the city into the open field. So shall he make atonement for the house; and it shall be clean.”

ma lascerà andare libero l’uccello vivo, fuori dalla città, per i campi; così farà l’espiazione per la casa, ed essa sarà pura».

54 T his is the law for any plague of leprosy, and for an itch,

Questa è la legge relativa a ogni specie di macchia di muffa e di tigna,

55 a nd for the destructive mildew of a garment, and for a house,

alla muffa delle vesti e della casa,

56 a nd for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot;

ai tumori, alle pustole e alle macchie lucide,

57 t o teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean. This is the law of leprosy.
