1 D o not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.

2 F or they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.

3 T rust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Confía en el Señor, y haz el bien; Habita en la tierra, y cultiva la fidelidad.

4 D elight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Pon tu delicia en el Señor, Y El te dará las peticiones de tu corazón.

5 C ommit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Encomienda al Señor tu camino, Confía en El, que El actuará;

6 H e shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.

Hará resplandecer tu justicia como la luz, Y tu derecho como el mediodía.

7 R est in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Confía callado en el Señor y espera en El con paciencia; No te irrites a causa del que prospera en su camino, Por el hombre que lleva a cabo sus intrigas.

8 C ease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm.

Deja la ira y abandona el furor; No te irrites, sólo harías lo malo.

9 F or evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth.

Porque los malhechores serán exterminados, Pero los que esperan en el Señor poseerán la tierra.

10 F or yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.

Un poco más y no existirá el impío; Buscarás con cuidado su lugar, pero él no estará allí.

11 B ut the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Pero los humildes poseerán la tierra Y se deleitarán en abundante prosperidad.

12 T he wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.

El impío trama contra el justo, Y contra él rechina sus dientes.

13 T he Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming.

El Señor se ríe de él, Porque ve que su día se acerca.

14 T he wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct.

Los impíos han sacado la espada y entesado el arco Para abatir al afligido y al necesitado, Para matar a los de recto proceder.

15 T heir sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.

Su espada les atravesará su propio corazón, Y sus arcos serán quebrados.

16 A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked.

Mejor es lo poco del justo Que la abundancia de muchos impíos.

17 F or the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous.

Porque los brazos de los impíos serán quebrados, Pero el Señor sostiene a los justos.

18 T he Lord knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever.

El Señor conoce los días de los íntegros, Y su herencia será perpetua.

19 T hey shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

No serán avergonzados en el tiempo malo, Y en días de hambre se saciarán.

20 B ut the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the Lord, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away.

Pero los impíos perecerán, Y los enemigos del Señor serán como las flores de los prados; Desaparecen, se desvanecen como el humo.

21 T he wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.

El impío pide prestado y no paga, Pero el justo es compasivo y da.

22 F or those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth, But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.

Porque los que son bendecidos por el Señor poseerán la tierra, Pero los maldecidos por El serán exterminados.

23 T he steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.

Por el Señor son ordenados los pasos del hombre, Y el Señor se deleita en su camino.

24 T hough he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.

Cuando caiga, no quedará derribado, Porque el Señor sostiene su mano.

25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

Yo fui joven, y ya soy viejo, Y no he visto al justo desamparado, Ni a su descendencia mendigando pan.

26 H e is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.

Todo el día es compasivo y presta, Y su descendencia es para bendición.

27 D epart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore.

Apártate del mal y haz el bien, Y tendrás morada para siempre.

28 F or the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

Porque el Señor ama la justicia, Y no abandona a Sus santos; Ellos son preservados para siempre, Pero la descendencia de los impíos será exterminada.

29 T he righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.

Los justos poseerán la tierra, Y para siempre morarán en ella.

30 T he mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice.

La boca del justo profiere sabiduría Y su lengua habla rectitud.

31 T he law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.

La ley de su Dios está en su corazón; No vacilan sus pasos.

32 T he wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him.

El impío acecha al justo Y procura matarlo.

33 T he Lord will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.

El Señor no dejará al justo en sus manos, Ni permitirá que lo condenen cuando sea juzgado.

34 W ait on the Lord, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

Espera en el Señor y guarda Su camino, Y El te exaltará para que poseas la tierra. Cuando los impíos sean exterminados, tú lo verás.

35 I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree.

He visto al impío, violento, Extenderse como frondoso árbol en su propio suelo.

36 Y et he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.

Luego pasó, y ya no estaba; Lo busqué, pero no se pudo encontrar.

37 M ark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.

Observa al que es íntegro, mira al que es recto; Porque el hombre de paz tendrá descendencia.

38 B ut the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

Pero los transgresores serán destruidos a una; La posteridad de los impíos será exterminada.

39 B ut the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble.

Pero la salvación de los justos viene del Señor; El es su fortaleza en el tiempo de la angustia.

40 A nd the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.

El Señor los ayuda y los libra; Los libra de los impíos y los salva, Porque en El se refugian.
