2 A braham engendró a Isaac, Isaac a Jacob, y Jacob a Judá y a sus hermanos.

Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.

3 J udá engendró, de Tamar, a Fares y a Zara, Fares a Esrom, y Esrom a Aram.

Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.

4 A ram engendró a Aminadab, Aminadab a Naasón, y Naasón a Salmón.

Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon.

5 S almón engendró, de Rahab, a Booz, Booz engendró, de Rut, a Obed, y Obed a Isaí.

Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse,

6 I saí engendró al rey David. El rey David engendró, de la que fue mujer de Urías, a Salomón.

and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.

7 S alomón engendró a Roboam, Roboam a Abías, y Abías a Asa.

8 A sa engendró a Josafat, Josafat a Joram, y Joram a Uzías.

Asa begot Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah.

9 U zías engendró a Jotam, Jotam a Acaz, y Acaz a Ezequías.

Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah.

10 E zequías engendró a Manasés, Manasés a Amón, y Amón a Josías.

Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah.

11 J osías engendró a Jeconías y a sus hermanos, en el tiempo de la deportación a Babilonia.

Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon.

12 D espués de la deportación a Babilonia, Jeconías engendró a Salatiel, y Salatiel a Zorobabel.

And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel.

13 Z orobabel engendró a Abiud, Abiud a Eliaquim, y Eliaquim a Azor.

Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.

14 A zor engendró a Sadoc, Sadoc a Aquim, y Aquim a Eliud.

Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.

15 E liud engendró a Eleazar, Eleazar a Matán, Matán a Jacob.

Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob.

16 J acob engendró a José, marido de María, de la cual nació Jesús, llamado el Cristo.

And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.

17 D e manera que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce; desde David hasta la deportación a Babilonia, catorce; y desde la deportación a Babilonia hasta Cristo, catorce. Nacimiento de Jesucristo

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations. Christ Born of Mary

18 E l nacimiento de Jesucristo fue así: Estando comprometida María, su madre, con José, antes que vivieran juntos se halló que había concebido del Espíritu Santo.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

19 J osé, su marido, como era justo y no quería infamarla, quiso dejarla secretamente.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

20 P ensando él en esto, un ángel del Señor se le apareció en sueños y le dijo: «José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María tu mujer, porque lo que en ella es engendrado, del Espíritu Santo es.

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

21 D ará a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús, porque él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados.»

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

22 T odo esto aconteció para que se cumpliera lo que dijo el Señor por medio del profeta:

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

23 « Una virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo y le pondrás por nombre Emanuel» (que significa: «Dios con nosotros»).

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

24 C uando despertó José del sueño, hizo como el ángel del Señor le había mandado y recibió a su mujer.

Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,

25 P ero no la conoció hasta que dio a luz a su hijo primogénito, y le puso por nombre Jesús.

and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.
