1 Т и, прочее, чадо мое заяквай в благодатта, която е в Христа Исуса.

Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 И каквото си чул от мене при много свидетели, това предай на верни човеци, които да са способни и други да научат.

And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

3 С ъучаствай в страданията като добър войник Исус Христов.

Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

4 Н икой, служещ като войник, не се заплита в житейски работи, за да угоди на този, който го е записал за войник.

No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of this life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

5 И ако се подвизава някой в игрите, не се увенчава, ако не се подвизава законно.

And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowded, except he have contended lawfully.

6 С амо трудящият се земевладелец трябва пръв да вкуси от плодовете.

The husbandmen that laboreth must be the first to partake of the fruits.

7 Р азмишлявай върху това, което ти казвам; и Господ ще ти даде да разбереш всичко.

Consider what I say; for the Lord shall give thee understanding in all things.

8 П омни Исуса Христа, от Давидовото потомство,Който възкръсна от мъртвите според моето благовестие;

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel:

9 З а което страдам до окови, като злодеец. Но Божието слово не се връзва.

wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.

10 З атова аз всичко издържам заради избраните, за да получат и те спасението, което е в Христа Исуса, заедно с вечна слава.

Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 В ярно е това слово: "Защото ако сме умрели с Него; то ще и живеем с Него;

Faithful is the saying: For if we died with him, we shall also live with him:

12 А ко устоим, то ще и да царуваме с Него; ако се отричаме от Него, и той ще се отрече от нас;

if we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we shall deny him, he also will deny us:

13 а ко сме неверни, Той верен остава; защото не може да се отрече от Себе Си".

if we are faithless, he abideth faithful; for he cannot deny himself.

14 Т ова им напомнювай и заръчвай им пред Господа да не влизат за препирни и за дребнавости, което никак не ползува, а е за развращаване на слушателите.

Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of them that hear.

15 С тарай се да се представиш одобрен пред Бога работник, който няма от що да се срамува, като излагаш право словото на истината.

Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth.

16 А отдалечавай се от скверните празнословия, защото те ще отиват още по-далеч в нечестие,

But shun profane babblings: for they will proceed further in ungodliness,

17 и учението на такива ще разяжда като живеница; от които са Именей и Филет,

and their word will eat as doth a gangrene: or whom is Hymenaeus an Philetus;

18 к оито се отстраниха от истината, като казват, че възкресението е вече станало, та събарят вярата на някои.

men who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and overthrow the faith of some.

19 Н о твърдата основа, положена от Бога, стои, имайки печат: Господ познава Свойте Си, и: Всеки, който изповядва Господното име, да отстъпи от неправдата.

Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.

20 А в един голям дом съдовете не са само златни и сребърни, но и дървени и пръстни; и едни са за почтена употреба, а други за непочтена.

Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some unto honor, and some unto dishonor.

21 П рочее, ако някой очисти себе си от тия заблуждения, той ще бъде съд за почтена употреба, осветен, полезен на стопанина, приготвен за всяко добро дело.

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, meet for the master's use, prepared unto every good work.

22 Н о отбягвай младежките страсти; и заедно с тия, които призовават Господа от чисто сърце, следвай правдата, вярата, любовта, мира.

after righteousness, faith, love, pace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

23 А отричай се от глупавите и просташки разисквания, като знаеш, че пораждат крамоли.

But foolish and ignorant questionings refuse, knowing that they gender strifes.

24 А Господният слуга не бива да е крамолник, но трябва да бъде кротък към всичките, способен да поучава, търпелив;

And the Lord's servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing,

25 с кротост да увещава противниците, та дано би им дал Бог покаяние, за да познаят истината,

in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth,

26 и да изтрезнеят, като се избавят от примката на дявола, (от когото са уловени живи), за да вършат Божията воля.

and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will.
