1 Н аистина има рудница за сребро, И място, гдето злато се плави.

Surely there is a mine for silver, And a place for gold which they refine.

2 Ж елязото се взема из земята, И медта се лее от камъка.

Iron is taken out of the earth, And copper is molten out of the stone.

3 Ч овекът туря край на тъмнината, И издирва до най-далечните места, Камъните в тъмнината и в мрачната сянка.

Man setteth an end to darkness, And searcheth out, to the furthest bound, The stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.

4 Д алеч то човешко жилище, гдето нозе не стъпват, Той си отваря рудница; Окачени далеч от човеците рудничарите се люлеят.

He breaketh open a shaft away from where men sojourn; They are forgotten of the foot; They hang afar from men, they swing to and fro.

5 К олкото за земята, от нея произлиза хлябът? И под нея се разравя като че ли с огън.

As for the earth, out of it cometh bread; And underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.

6 К амъните и са място на сапфир, И златна пръст има в нея.

The stones thereof are the place of sapphires, And it hath dust of gold.

7 Х ищна птица не знае тоя път И окото на сокол не го е видяло.

That path no bird of prey knoweth, Neither hath the falcon's eye seen it:

8 Г орделивите зверове не са стъпвали по него; Лъв не е заминавал през него.

The proud beasts have not trodden it, Nor hath the fierce lion passed thereby.

9 Ч овекът простира ръката си върху канарите, Превръща планините из корен.

He putteth forth his hand upon the flinty rock; He overturneth the mountains by the roots.

10 Р азсича проломи между скалите; И окото му открива всичко що е скъпоценно

He cutteth out channels among the rocks; And his eye seeth every precious thing.

11 И ограничава капането на водите; И скритото изважда на бял свят.

He bindeth the streams that they trickle not; And the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.

12 Н о мъдростта, где ще се намери? И где е мястото на разума?

But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

13 Ч овекът не познава цената й; И тя не се намира в земята на живите,

Man knoweth not the price thereof; Neither is it found in the land of the living.

14 Б ездната казва: Не е у мене. И морето казва:Не е у мене.

The deep saith, It is not in me; And the sea saith, It is not with me.

15 Н е може да се придобие със злато; И сребро не може да се претегли в замяна с нея.

It cannot be gotten for gold, Neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

16 Н е може да се оцени с офирско злато, Със скъпоценен оникс и сапфир.

It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, With the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

17 З лато и кристал не могат се сравни с нея, Нито може да се размени с вещи от на-чисто злато.

Gold and glass cannot equal it, Neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

18 Н е ще се спомене корал или кристал за покупката й. Защото цената на мъдростта е по-висока от скъпоценните камъни.

No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal: Yea, the price of wisdom is above rubies.

19 Т опаз етиопски не ще се сравни с нея; Не ще се оцени тя с чисто злато.

The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

20 О т, где прочее, дохожда мъдростта? И где е мястото на разума?-

Whence then cometh wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?

21 П онеже е скрита от очите на всичките живи, И утаена от въздушните птици.

Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, And kept close from the birds of the heavens.

22 Г ибелта и смъртта казват: С ушите си чухме слух за нея.

Destruction and Death say, We have heard a rumor thereof with our ears.

23 Б ог разбира пътя й, И Той знае мястото й;

God understandeth the way thereof, And he knoweth the place thereof.

24 П онеже Той гледа до земните краища, И вижда под цялото небе,

For he looketh to the ends of the earth, And seeth under the whole heaven;

25 З а да претегля тежината на ветровете, И да измерва водите с мярка.

To make a weight for the wind: Yea, he meteth out the waters by measure.

26 К огато направи закон за дъжда, И път за светкавицата на гръма,

When he made a decree for the rain, And a way for the lightning of the thunder;

27 Т огава Той я видя и изяви; Утвърди я, да! И я изследва;

Then did he see it, and declare it; He established it, yea, and searched it out.

28 И каза на човека: Ето, Страх от Господа, туй е мъдрост, И отдалечаване от злото, това е разум.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.
