1 N ot unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth's sake.

Não a nós, Senhor, nenhuma glória para nós, mas sim ao teu nome, por teu amor e por tua fidelidade!

2 W herefore should the nations say, Where then is their God?

Por que perguntam as nações: “Onde está o Deus deles?”

3 B ut our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he pleased.

O nosso Deus está nos céus, e pode fazer tudo o que lhe agrada.

4 T heir idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands:

Os ídolos deles, de prata e ouro, são feitos por mãos humanas.

5 T hey have a mouth, and they speak not; eyes have they, and they see not;

Têm boca, mas não podem falar, olhos, mas não podem ver;

6 T hey have ears, and they hear not; a nose have they, and they smell not;

têm ouvidos, mas não podem ouvir, nariz, mas não podem sentir cheiro;

7 T hey have hands, and they handle not; feet have they, and they walk not; they give no sound through their throat.

têm mãos, mas nada podem apalpar, pés, mas não podem andar; e não emitem som algum com a garganta.

8 T hey that make them are like unto them,—every one that confideth in them.

Tornem-se como eles aqueles que os fazem e todos os que neles confiam.

9 O Israel, confide thou in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

Confie no Senhor, ó Israel! Ele é o seu socorro e o seu escudo.

10 H ouse of Aaron, confide in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

Confiem no Senhor, sacerdotes! Ele é o seu socorro e o seu escudo.

11 Y e that fear Jehovah, confide in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

Vocês que temem o Senhor, confiem no Senhor! Ele é o seu socorro e o seu escudo.

12 J ehovah hath been mindful of us: he will bless, he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron;

O Senhor lembra-se de nós e nos abençoará; abençoará os israelitas, abençoará os sacerdotes,

13 H e will bless them that fear Jehovah, both the small and the great.

abençoará os que temem o Senhor, do menor ao maior.

14 J ehovah will add unto you more, unto you and unto your children.

Que o Senhor os multiplique, vocês e os seus filhos.

15 Y e are blessed of Jehovah, who made the heavens and the earth.

Sejam vocês abençoados pelo Senhor, que fez os céus e a terra.

16 T he heavens are the heavens of Jehovah, but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Os mais altos céus pertencem ao Senhor, mas a terra ele a confiou ao homem.

17 T he dead praise not Jah, neither any that go down into silence;

Os mortos não louvam o Senhor, tampouco nenhum dos que descem ao silêncio.

18 B ut we will bless Jah from this time forth and for evermore. Hallelujah!
