1 A nd it shall be when thou comest into the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein,

“Quando vocês tiverem entrado na terra que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes dá por herança e dela tiverem tomado posse e lá estiverem estabelecidos,

2 t hat thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which thou shalt bring of thy land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place that Jehovah thy God will choose to cause his name to dwell there;

apanhem alguns dos primeiros frutos de tudo o que produzirem na terra que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes dá e ponham tudo numa cesta. Depois vocês deverão ir ao local que o Senhor, o seu Deus, escolher para habitação do seu Nome

3 a nd thou shalt come unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto Jehovah thy God, that I am come unto the land that Jehovah swore unto our fathers to give us.

e dizer ao sacerdote que estiver exercendo o cargo naquela ocasião: ‘Declaro hoje ao Senhor, o seu Deus, que vim para a terra que o Senhor jurou aos nossos antepassados que nos daria’.

4 A nd the priest shall take the basket out of thy hand, and set it down before the altar of Jehovah thy God.

O sacerdote apanhará a cesta das suas mãos e a colocará em frente do altar do Senhor, o seu Deus.

5 A nd thou shalt speak and say before Jehovah thy God, A perishing Aramean was my father, and he went down to Egypt with a few, and sojourned there, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous.

Então vocês declararão perante o Senhor, o seu Deus: ‘O meu pai era um arameu errante. Ele desceu ao Egito com pouca gente e ali viveu e se tornou uma grande nação, poderosa e numerosa.

6 A nd the Egyptians evil-entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage;

Mas os egípcios nos maltrataram e nos oprimiram, sujeitando-nos a trabalhos forçados.

7 a nd we cried to Jehovah, the God of our fathers, and Jehovah heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression;

Então clamamos ao Senhor, o Deus dos nossos antepassados, e o Senhor ouviu a nossa voz e viu o nosso sofrimento, a nossa fadiga e a opressão que sofríamos.

8 a nd Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt with a powerful hand, and with a stretched-out arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders;

Por isso o Senhor nos tirou do Egito com mão poderosa e braço forte, com feitos temíveis e com sinais e maravilhas.

9 a nd he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey!

Ele nos trouxe a este lugar e nos deu esta terra, terra onde manam leite e mel.

10 A nd now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruits of the land, which thou, Jehovah, hast given me. And thou shalt set it down before Jehovah thy God, and worship before Jehovah thy God.

E agora trago os primeiros frutos do solo que tu, ó Senhor, me deste’. Ponham a cesta perante o Senhor, o seu Deus, e curvem-se perante ele.

11 A nd thou shalt rejoice in all the good that Jehovah thy God hath given to thee, and to thy house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is in thy midst.

Vocês e os levitas e os estrangeiros que estiverem no meio de vocês se alegrarão com todas as coisas boas que o Senhor, o seu Deus, dá a vocês e às suas famílias.

12 W hen thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thy produce in the third year, the year of tithing, thou shalt give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat in thy gates, and be filled;

“Quando tiverem separado o dízimo de tudo quanto produziram no terceiro ano, o ano do dízimo, entreguem-no ao levita, ao estrangeiro, ao órfão e à viúva, para que possam comer até saciar-se nas cidades de vocês.

13 a nd thou shalt say before Jehovah thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of the house, and also have given them to the Levite, and to the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandment which thou hast commanded me; I have not transgressed nor forgotten of thy commandments:

Depois digam ao Senhor, o seu Deus: ‘Retirei da minha casa a porção sagrada e dei-a ao levita, ao estrangeiro, ao órfão e à viúva, de acordo com tudo o que ordenaste. Não me afastei dos teus mandamentos nem esqueci nenhum deles.

14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I brought away thereof in uncleanness, nor given thereof for a dead person; I have hearkened to the voice of Jehovah my God; I have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

Não comi nada da porção sagrada enquanto estive de luto, nada retirei dela enquanto estive impuro, e dela não ofereci nada aos mortos. Obedeci ao Senhor, o meu Deus; fiz tudo o que me ordenaste.

15 L ook down from thy holy habitation, from the heavens, and bless thy people Israel, and the land that thou hast given us as thou didst swear unto our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey!

Olha dos céus, da tua santa habitação, e abençoa Israel, o teu povo, e a terra que nos deste, conforme prometeste sob juramento aos nossos antepassados, terra onde manam leite e mel’. Exortação à Obediência

16 T his day Jehovah thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and ordinances; and thou shalt keep and do them with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

“O Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes ordena hoje que sigam esses decretos e ordenanças; obedeçam-lhes atentamente, de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma.

17 T hou hast this day accepted Jehovah to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and to hearken unto his voice;

Hoje vocês declararam que o Senhor é o seu Deus e que vocês andarão nos seus caminhos, que guardarão os seus decretos, os seus mandamentos e as suas ordenanças, e que vocês lhe obedecerão.

18 a nd Jehovah hath accepted thee this day to be a people of possession to him, as he hath told thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments,

E hoje o Senhor declarou que vocês são o seu povo, o seu tesouro pessoal, conforme ele prometeu, e que vocês terão que obedecer a todos os seus mandamentos.

19 s o that he should make thee high above all the nations which he hath made, in praise and in name and in honour; and that thou shouldest be a holy people to Jehovah thy God, as he hath said.

Ele declarou que lhes dará uma posição de glória, fama e honra muito acima de todas as nações que ele fez, e que vocês serão um povo santo para o Senhor, o seu Deus, conforme ele prometeu”.
