1 I n thee, Jehovah, do I trust: let me never be ashamed.

Em ti, Senhor, busquei refúgio; nunca permitas que eu seja humilhado.

2 D eliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me; incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

Resgata-me e livra-me por tua justiça; inclina o teu ouvido para mim e salva-me.

3 B e to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

Peço-te que sejas a minha rocha de refúgio, para onde eu sempre possa ir; dá ordem para que me libertem, pois és a minha rocha e a minha fortaleza.

4 M y God, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

Livra-me, ó meu Deus, das mãos dos ímpios, das garras dos perversos e cruéis.

5 F or thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah, my confidence from my youth.

Pois tu és a minha esperança, ó Soberano Senhor, em ti está a minha confiança desde a juventude.

6 O n thee have I been stayed from the womb; from the bowels of my mother thou didst draw me forth: my praise shall be continually of thee.

Desde o ventre materno dependo de ti; tu me sustentaste desde as entranhas de minha mãe. Eu sempre te louvarei!

7 I have been as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

Tornei-me um exemplo para muitos, porque tu és o meu refúgio seguro.

8 M y mouth shall be filled with thy praise, with thy glory, all the day.

Do teu louvor transborda a minha boca, que o tempo todo proclama o teu esplendor.

9 C ast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

Não me rejeites na minha velhice; não me abandones quando se vão as minhas forças.

10 F or mine enemies speak against me, and they that watch for my soul consult together,

Pois os meus inimigos me caluniam; os que estão à espreita juntam-se e planejam matar-me.

11 S aying, God hath forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver.

“Deus o abandonou”, dizem eles; “persigam-no e prendam-no, pois ninguém o livrará.”

12 O God, be not far from me; my God, hasten to my help.

Não fiques longe de mim, ó Deus; ó meu Deus, apressa-te em ajudar-me.

13 L et them be ashamed, let them be consumed, that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

Pereçam humilhados os meus acusadores; sejam cobertos de zombaria e vergonha os que querem prejudicar-me.

14 B ut as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise thee yet more and more.

Mas eu sempre terei esperança e te louvarei cada vez mais.

15 M y mouth shall declare thy righteousness, thy salvation all the day: for I know not the numbers.

A minha boca falará sem cessar da tua justiça e dos teus incontáveis atos de salvação.

16 I will go in the might of the Lord Jehovah; I will recall thy righteousness, thine alone.

Falarei dos teus feitos poderosos, ó Soberano Senhor; proclamarei a tua justiça, unicamente a tua justiça.

17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth, and hitherto have I proclaimed thy marvellous works:

Desde a minha juventude, ó Deus, tens me ensinado, e até hoje eu anuncio as tuas maravilhas.

18 N ow also, when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not, until I have proclaimed thine arm unto generation, thy might to every one that is to come.

Agora que estou velho, de cabelos brancos, não me abandones, ó Deus, para que eu possa falar da tua força aos nossos filhos, e do teu poder às futuras gerações.

19 A nd thy righteousness, O God, reacheth on high, thou who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee?

Tua justiça chega até as alturas, ó Deus, tu, que tens feito coisas grandiosas. Quem se compara a ti, ó Deus?

20 T hou, who hast shewn us many and sore troubles, wilt revive us again, and wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth;

Tu, que me fizeste passar muitas e duras tribulações, restaurarás a minha vida, e das profundezas da terra de novo me farás subir.

21 T hou wilt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

Tu me farás mais honrado e mais uma vez me consolarás.

22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, my God; unto thee will I sing psalms with the harp, thou holy One of Israel.

E eu te louvarei com a lira por tua fidelidade, ó meu Deus; cantarei louvores a ti com a harpa, ó Santo de Israel.

23 M y lips shall exult when I sing psalms unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

Os meus lábios gritarão de alegria quando eu cantar louvores a ti, pois tu me redimiste.

24 M y tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day; for they shall be ashamed, for they shall be brought to confusion, that seek my hurt.

Também a minha língua sempre falará dos teus atos de justiça, pois os que queriam prejudicar-me foram humilhados e ficaram frustrados.
