1 T hey that confide in Jehovah are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved; it abideth for ever.

Os que confiam no Senhor são como o monte Sião, que não se pode abalar, mas permanece para sempre.

2 J erusalem!—mountains are round about her, and Jehovah is round about his people, from henceforth and for evermore.

Como os montes cercam Jerusalém, assim o Senhor protege o seu povo, desde agora e para sempre.

3 F or the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

O cetro dos ímpios não prevalecerá sobre a terra dada aos justos; se assim fosse, até os justos praticariam a injustiça.

4 D o good, O Jehovah, unto the good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

Senhor, trata com bondade os que fazem o bem, os que têm coração íntegro.

5 B ut as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!

Mas aos que se desviam por caminhos tortuosos, o Senhor infligirá o castigo dado aos malfeitores. Haja paz em Israel!
