1 J ehovah said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put thine enemies footstool of thy feet.

O Senhor disse ao meu Senhor: “Senta-te à minha direita até que eu faça dos teus inimigos um estrado para os teus pés”.

2 J ehovah shall send the sceptre of thy might out of Zion: rule in the midst of thine enemies.

O Senhor estenderá o cetro de teu poder desde Sião, e dominarás sobre os teus inimigos!

3 T hy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in holy splendour: from the womb of the morning to thee the dew of thy youth.

Quando convocares as tuas tropas, o teu povo se apresentará voluntariamente. Trajando vestes santas, desde o romper da alvorada os teus jovens virão como o orvalho.

4 J ehovah hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art priest for ever after the order of Melchisedek.

O Senhor jurou e não se arrependerá: “Tu és sacerdote para sempre, segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque”.

5 T he Lord at thy right hand will smite through kings in the day of his anger.

O Senhor está à tua direita; ele esmagará reis no dia da sua ira.

6 H e shall judge among the nations; he shall fill with dead bodies; he shall smite through the head over a great country.

Julgará as nações, amontoando os mortos e esmagando governantes em toda a extensão da terra.

7 H e shall drink of the brook in the way; therefore shall he lift up the head.

No caminho beberá de um ribeiro, e então erguerá a cabeça.
