Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

3 H emos quedado huérfanos, sin padre, nuestras madres, como viudas.

We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

4 P or el agua que bebemos tenemos que pagar, nuestra leña nos llega por precio.

We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

5 S obre nuestros cuellos están nuestros perseguidores; no hay descanso para nosotros, estamos agotados.

Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

6 A Egipto y a Asiria nos hemos sometido para saciarnos de pan.

We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

7 N uestros padres pecaron, ya no existen, y nosotros cargamos con sus iniquidades.

Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

8 E sclavos dominan sobre nosotros, no hay quien nos libre de su mano.

Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

9 C on peligro de nuestras vidas conseguimos nuestro pan, enfrentándonos a la espada del desierto.

We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

10 N uestra piel quema como un horno, a causa de los ardores del hambre.

Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

11 V iolaron a las mujeres en Sion, a las vírgenes en las ciudades de Judá.

They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

12 L os príncipes fueron colgados de sus manos, los rostros de los ancianos no fueron respetados.

Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

13 L os jóvenes trabajaron en el molino, y los muchachos cayeron bajo el peso de la leña.

They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

14 L os ancianos se han apartado de las puertas, los jóvenes de su música.

The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

15 H a cesado el gozo de nuestro corazón, se ha convertido en duelo nuestra danza.

The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

16 H a caído la corona de nuestra cabeza. ¡Ay de nosotros, pues hemos pecado!

The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

17 P or esto está abatido nuestro corazón, por estas cosas se nublan nuestros ojos,

For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

18 p or el monte Sion que está asolado; las zorras merodean en él.

Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

19 M as tú, oh Señor, reinas para siempre, tu trono permanece de generación en generación.

Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

20 ¿ Por qué te olvidas para siempre de nosotros, y nos abandonas a perpetuidad ?

Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

21 R estáuranos a ti, oh Señor, y seremos restaurados; renueva nuestros días como antaño,

Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

22 a no ser que nos hayas desechado totalmente, y estés enojado en gran manera contra nosotros.

But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
