The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

2 A braham engendró a Isaac, Isaac a Jacob, y Jacob a Judá y a sus hermanos;

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

3 J udá engendró, de Tamar, a Fares y a Zara, Fares engendró a Esrom, y Esrom a Aram;

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

4 A ram engendró a Aminadab, Aminadab a Naasón, y Naasón a Salmón;

And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

5 S almón engendró, de Rahab, a Booz, Booz engendró, de Rut, a Obed, y Obed engendró a Isaí;

And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

6 I saí engendró al rey David. Y David engendró a Salomón de la que había sido mujer de Urías.

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

7 S alomón engendró a Roboam, Roboam a Abías, y Abías a Asa;

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

8 A sa engendró a Josafat, Josafat a Joram, y Joram a Uzías;

And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

9 U zías engendró a Jotam, Jotam a Acaz, y Acaz a Ezequías;

And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

10 E zequías engendró a Manasés, Manasés a Amón, y Amón a Josías;

And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

11 J osías engendró a Jeconías y a sus hermanos durante la deportación a Babilonia.

And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

12 D espués de la deportación a Babilonia, Jeconías engendró a Salatiel, y Salatiel a Zorobabel;

And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

13 Z orobabel engendró a Abiud, Abiud a Eliaquim, y Eliaquim a Azor;

And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

14 A zor engendró a Sadoc, Sadoc a Aquim, y Aquim a Eliud;

And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

15 E liud engendró a Eleazar, Eleazar a Matán, y Matán a Jacob;

And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

16 J acob engendró a José, el marido de María, de la cual nació Jesús, llamado el Cristo.

And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17 D e manera que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce generaciones; y desde David hasta la deportación a Babilonia, catorce generaciones; y desde la deportación a Babilonia hasta Cristo, catorce generaciones. Nacimiento de Jesucristo

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

18 Y el nacimiento de Jesucristo fue como sigue. Estando su madre María desposada con José, antes de que se consumara el matrimonio, se halló que había concebido por obra del Espíritu Santo.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Y José su marido, siendo un hombre justo y no queriendo difamarla, quiso abandonarla en secreto.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 P ero mientras pensaba en esto, he aquí que se le apareció en sueños un ángel del Señor, diciendo: José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María tu mujer, porque el Niño que se ha engendrado en ella es del Espíritu Santo.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 Y dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús, porque El salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 T odo esto sucedió para que se cumpliera lo que el Señor había hablado por medio del profeta, diciendo:

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 H e aqui, la virgen concebira y dara a luz un hijo, y le pondran por nombre Emmanuel, que traducido significa: Dios con nosotros.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Y cuando despertó José del sueño, hizo como el ángel del Señor le había mandado, y tomó consigo a su mujer;

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 y la conservó virgen hasta que dio a luz un hijo; y le puso por nombre Jesús.

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.
