1 Y Salomón, hijo de David, se estableció firmemente en su reino, y el Señor su Dios estaba con él y lo engrandeció sobremanera.

And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

2 Y Salomón habló a todo Israel, a los comandantes de miles y de cientos, a los jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, jefes de casas paternas.

Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.

3 E ntonces Salomón y toda la asamblea con él fueron al lugar alto que había en Gabaón, porque allí estaba la tienda de reunión de Dios, que Moisés, siervo del Señor, había hecho en el desierto.

So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.

4 P ero David había traído el arca de Dios de Quiriat-jearim al lugar que había preparado para ella, porque le había levantado una tienda en Jerusalén.

But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

5 Y el altar de bronce que había hecho Bezaleel, hijo de Uri, hijo de Hur, estaba delante del tabernáculo del Señor, al cual consultaron Salomón y la asamblea.

Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the Lord: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

6 S ubió Salomón allí, delante del Señor, al altar de bronce que estaba en la tienda de reunión, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.

And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

7 A quella noche Dios se apareció a Salomón y le dijo: Pide lo que quieras que yo te dé.

In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

8 E ntonces Salomón dijo a Dios: Tú has mostrado gran misericordia con mi padre David, y me has hecho rey en su lugar.

And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.

9 A hora, oh Señor Dios, tu promesa a mi padre David se ha cumplido, porque me has hecho rey sobre un pueblo tan numeroso como el polvo de la tierra.

Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

10 D ame ahora sabiduría y conocimiento, para que pueda salir y entrar delante de este pueblo; porque, ¿quién podrá juzgar a este pueblo tuyo tan grande ?

Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

11 Y dijo Dios a Salomón: Por cuanto esto estaba en tu corazón, y no has pedido riquezas, ni bienes, ni gloria, ni la vida de los que te odian, ni aun has pedido larga vida, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría y conocimiento para poder gobernar a mi pueblo sobre el cual te he hecho rey,

And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 s abiduría y conocimiento te han sido concedidos. Y te daré riquezas y bienes y gloria, tales como no las tuvieron ninguno de los reyes que fueron antes de ti, ni los que vendrán después de ti.

Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

13 Y Salomón salió del lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, de la tienda de reunión, a Jerusalén, y reinó sobre Israel.

Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.

14 Y juntó Salomón carros y hombres de a caballo; y tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil hombres de a caballo, y los apostó en las ciudades de los carros, y en Jerusalén, junto al rey.

And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

15 E l rey hizo la plata y el oro tan común en Jerusalén como las piedras, e hizo los cedros tan abundantes como los sicómoros en el llano.

And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

16 L os caballos de Salomón eran importados de Egipto y de Coa, y los mercaderes del rey los adquirían de Coa por cierto precio.

And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

17 Y se importaba un carro de Egipto por seiscientos siclos de plata, y un caballo por ciento cincuenta, y de la misma manera los exportaban a todos los reyes de los hititas y a los reyes de Aram.

And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.
