1 Y los hijos de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel (porque él era el primogénito, mas como profanó la cama de su padre, sus derechos de primogenitura fueron dados a los hijos de José, hijo de Israel; de modo que no está inscrito en la genealogía conforme a los derechos de primogenitura;

Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)

3 f ueron, pues, los hijos de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi.

The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

4 L os hijos de Joel fueron Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simei su hijo,

The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

5 M icaía su hijo, Reaía su hijo, Baal su hijo,

Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,

6 B eera su hijo, a quien Tilgat-pilneser, rey de los asirios, se llevó al destierro; éste fue jefe de los rubenitas.

Beerah his son, whom Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

7 S us parientes, por sus familias, en la genealogía de sus generaciones, fueron Jeiel el jefe, después Zacarías

And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

8 y Bela, hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, que habitó en Aroer hasta Nebo y Baal-meón.

And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baalmeon:

9 Y hacia el oriente habitó hasta la entrada del desierto desde el río Eufrates, porque su ganado había aumentado en la tierra de Galaad.

And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

10 E n los días de Saúl hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, los cuales cayeron en sus manos, de modo que ellos ocuparon sus tiendas por toda la tierra al oriente de Galaad.

And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.

11 Y los hijos de Gad habitaron frente a ellos en la tierra de Basán, hasta Salca.

And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salcah:

12 J oel fue el jefe, y Safán el segundo, después Jaanai y Safat en Basán.

Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13 Y los parientes de sus casas paternas fueron Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacán, Zía y Heber: siete.

And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.

14 E stos fueron los hijos de Abihail, hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz;

These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

15 A hí, hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, fue jefe de sus casas paternas.

Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.

16 Y habitaron en Galaad, en Basán y en sus ciudades, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón, hasta sus fronteras.

And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.

17 T odos éstos fueron inscritos por genealogías en los días de Jotam, rey de Judá, y en los días de Jeroboam, rey de Israel.

All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18 L os hijos de Rubén y de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada y tiraban con arco, y que eran diestros en batalla, fueron cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a la batalla.

The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.

19 E hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, Jetur, Nafis y Nodab.

And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.

20 Y Dios les ayudó contra ellos, y los agarenos y todos los que estaban con ellos fueron entregados en sus manos; porque clamaron a Dios en la batalla, y El fue propicio a ellos porque confiaron en El.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

21 Y tomaron sus ganados: cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos; también cien mil hombres.

And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.

22 M uchos, pues, cayeron muertos, porque la guerra era de Dios. Y habitaron en su lugar hasta el destierro.

For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.

23 L os hijos de la media tribu de Manasés habitaron en la tierra; eran muy numerosos desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón, Senir y el monte Hermón.

And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baalhermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.

24 Y estos fueron los jefes de sus casas paternas: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Jahdiel, hombres fuertes de gran valor, hombres de renombre, jefes de sus casas paternas.

And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.

25 P ero traicionaron al Dios de sus padres, y se prostituyeron con los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, los cuales Dios había destruido delante de ellos.

And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

26 P or lo cual el Dios de Israel movió el espíritu de Pul, rey de Asiria, o sea, el espíritu de Tilgat-pilneser, rey de Asiria, y los llevó al destierro, es decir, a los rubenitas, a los gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor, a Hara y al río de Gozán, hasta el día de hoy.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.
