1 E n mi angustia clamé al Señor, y El me respondió.

In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

2 L ibra mi alma, Señor, de labios mentirosos, y de lengua engañosa.

Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

3 ¿ Qué se te dará, y qué se te añadirá, oh lengua engañosa ?

What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

4 A gudas flechas de guerrero, con brasas de enebro.

Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

5 ¡ Ay de mí, porque soy peregrino en Mesec, y habito entre las tiendas de Cedar!

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 D emasiado tiempo ha morado mi alma con los que odian la paz.

My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7 Y o amo la paz, mas cuando hablo, ellos están por la guerra.

I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
