11 A nd Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

12 A nd after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

15 A nd Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

Eliud engendró a Eleazar, Eleazar a Matán, y Matán a Jacob;

16 A nd Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17 S o all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

18 N ow the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Y el nacimiento de Jesucristo fue como sigue. Estando su madre María desposada con José, antes de que se consumara el matrimonio, se halló que había concebido por obra del Espíritu Santo.

19 T hen Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

Y José su marido, siendo un hombre justo y no queriendo difamarla, quiso abandonarla en secreto.

20 B ut while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Pero mientras pensaba en esto, he aquí que se le apareció en sueños un ángel del Señor, diciendo: José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María tu mujer, porque el Niño que se ha engendrado en ella es del Espíritu Santo.

21 A nd she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Y dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús, porque El salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados.

22 N ow all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

Todo esto sucedió para que se cumpliera lo que el Señor había hablado por medio del profeta, diciendo:

23 B ehold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

He aqui, la virgen concebira y dara a luz un hijo, y le pondran por nombre Emmanuel, que traducido significa: Dios con nosotros.

24 T hen Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

Y cuando despertó José del sueño, hizo como el ángel del Señor le había mandado, y tomó consigo a su mujer;

25 A nd knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

y la conservó virgen hasta que dio a luz un hijo; y le puso por nombre Jesús.
