1 C hildren, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Hijos, obedeced a vuestros padres en el Señor, porque esto es justo.

2 H onour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

Honra a tu padre y a tu madre (que es el primer mandamiento con promesa),

3 T hat it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

para que te vaya bien, y para que tengas larga vida sobre la tierra.

4 A nd, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Y vosotros, padres, no provoquéis a ira a vuestros hijos, sino criadlos en la disciplina e instrucción del Señor. Relaciones entre amos y siervos

5 S ervants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Siervos, obedeced a vuestros amos en la tierra, con temor y temblor, con la sinceridad de vuestro corazón, como a Cristo;

6 N ot with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

no para ser vistos, como los que quieren agradar a los hombres, sino como siervos de Cristo, haciendo de corazón la voluntad de Dios.

7 W ith good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

Servid de buena voluntad, como al Señor y no a los hombres,

8 K nowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

sabiendo que cualquier cosa buena que cada uno haga, esto recibirá del Señor, sea siervo o sea libre.

9 A nd, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

Y vosotros, amos, haced lo mismo con ellos, y dejad las amenazas, sabiendo que el Señor de ellos y de vosotros está en los cielos, y que para El no hay acepción de personas. La armadura de Dios para el cristiano

10 F inally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Por lo demás, fortaleceos en el Señor y en el poder de su fuerza.

11 P ut on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Revestíos con toda la armadura de Dios para que podáis estar firmes contra las insidias del diablo.

12 F or we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Porque nuestra lucha no es contra sangre y carne, sino contra principados, contra potestades, contra los poderes de este mundo de tinieblas, contra las huestes espirituales de maldad en las regiones celestiales.

13 W herefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Por tanto, tomad toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis resistir en el día malo, y habiéndolo hecho todo, estar firmes.

14 S tand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Estad, pues, firmes, ceñida vuestra cintura con la verdad, revestidos con la coraza de la justicia,

15 A nd your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

y calzados los pies con el apresto del evangelio de la paz;

16 A bove all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

en todo, tomando el escudo de la fe con el que podréis apagar todos los dardos encendidos del maligno.

17 A nd take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Tomad también el yelmo de la salvacion, y la espada del Espíritu que es la palabra de Dios.

18 P raying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Con toda oración y súplica orad en todo tiempo en el Espíritu, y así, velad con toda perseverancia y súplica por todos los santos;

19 A nd for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

y orad por mí, para que me sea dada palabra al abrir mi boca, a fin de dar a conocer sin temor el misterio del evangelio,

20 F or which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

por el cual soy embajador en cadenas; que al proclamar lo hable con denuedo, como debo hablar. Despedida y bendición

21 B ut that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

Pero a fin de que también vosotros sepáis mi situación y lo que hago, todo os lo hará saber Tíquico, amado hermano y fiel ministro en el Señor,

22 W hom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

a quien he enviado a vosotros precisamente para esto, para que sepáis de nosotros y para que consuele vuestros corazones.

23 P eace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paz sea a los hermanos, y amor con fe de Dios el Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

24 G race be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

La gracia sea con todos los que aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo con amor incorruptible.
