1 N ow the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying:

2 “ Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male individually,

3 f rom twenty years old and above—all who are able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

De veinte años arriba, todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel, los contaréis tú y Aarón por sus ejércitos.

4 A nd with you there shall be a man from every tribe, each one the head of his father’s house.

Y estará con vosotros un varón de cada tribu, cada uno jefe de la casa de sus padres.

5 “ These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: from Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;

Estos son los nombres de los varones que estarán con vosotros: De la tribu de Rubén, Elisur hijo de Sedeur.

6 f rom Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;

De Simeón, Selumiel hijo de Zurisadai.

7 f rom Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;

De Judá, Naasón hijo de Aminadab.

8 f rom Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar;

De Isacar, Natanael hijo de Zuar.

9 f rom Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon;

De Zabulón, Eliab hijo de Helón.

10 f rom the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;

De los hijos de José: de Efraín, Elisama hijo de Amiud; de Manasés, Gamaliel hijo de Pedasur.

11 f rom Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;

De Benjamín, Abidán hijo de Gedeoni.

12 f rom Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;

De Dan, Ahiezer hijo de Amisadai.

13 f rom Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran;

De Aser, Pagiel hijo de Ocrán.

14 f rom Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;

De Gad, Eliasaf hijo de Deuel.

15 f rom Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”

16 T hese were chosen from the congregation, leaders of their fathers’ tribes, heads of the divisions in Israel.

Estos eran los nombrados de entre la congregación, príncipes de las tribus de sus padres, capitanes de los millares de Israel.

17 T hen Moses and Aaron took these men who had been mentioned by name,

18 a nd they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they recited their ancestry by families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, each one individually.

y reunieron a toda la congregación en el día primero del mes segundo, y fueron agrupados por familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres por cabeza, de veinte años arriba.

19 A s the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai.

Como Jehová lo había mandado a Moisés, los contó en el desierto de Sinaí.

20 N ow the children of Reuben, Israel’s oldest son, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:

De los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres por cabeza, todos los varones de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

21 t hose who were numbered of the tribe of Reuben were forty-six thousand five hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Rubén fueron cuarenta y seis mil quinientos.

22 F rom the children of Simeon, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, of those who were numbered, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:

De los hijos de Simeón, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, fueron contados conforme a la cuenta de los nombres por cabeza, todos los varones de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

23 t hose who were numbered of the tribe of Simeon were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Simeón fueron cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos.

24 F rom the children of Gad, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:

De los hijos de Gad, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres, de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

25 t hose who were numbered of the tribe of Gad were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

los contados de la tribu de Gad fueron cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta.

26 F rom the children of Judah, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:

De los hijos de Judá, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres, de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

27 t hose who were numbered of the tribe of Judah were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

De los hijos de Dan, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres, de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

De los hijos de Aser, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres, de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

41 t hose who were numbered of the tribe of Asher were forty-one thousand five hundred.

De los hijos de Neftalí, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres, de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

43 t hose who were numbered of the tribe of Naphtali were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Neftalí fueron cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.

44 T hese are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each one representing his father’s house.

Estos fueron los contados, los cuales contaron Moisés y Aarón, con los príncipes de Israel, doce varones, uno por cada casa de sus padres.

45 S o all who were numbered of the children of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war in Israel—

46 a ll who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

47 B ut the Levites were not numbered among them by their fathers’ tribe;

Pero los levitas, según la tribu de sus padres, no fueron contados entre ellos;

48 f or the Lord had spoken to Moses, saying:

porque habló Jehová a Moisés, diciendo:

49 “ Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, nor take a census of them among the children of Israel;

Solamente no contarás la tribu de Leví, ni tomarás la cuenta de ellos entre los hijos de Israel,

50 b ut you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, over all its furnishings, and over all things that belong to it; they shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they shall attend to it and camp around the tabernacle.

sino que pondrás a los levitas en el tabernáculo del testimonio, y sobre todos sus utensilios, y sobre todas las cosas que le pertenecen; ellos llevarán el tabernáculo y todos sus enseres, y ellos servirán en él, y acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo.

51 A nd when the tabernacle is to go forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.

Y cuando el tabernáculo haya de trasladarse, los levitas lo desarmarán, y cuando el tabernáculo haya de detenerse, los levitas lo armarán; y el extraño que se acercare morirá.

52 T he children of Israel shall pitch their tents, everyone by his own camp, everyone by his own standard, according to their armies;

Los hijos de Israel acamparán cada uno en su campamento, y cada uno junto a su bandera, por sus ejércitos;

53 b ut the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony.”

pero los levitas acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo del testimonio, para que no haya ira sobre la congregación de los hijos de Israel; y los levitas tendrán la guarda del tabernáculo del testimonio.

54 T hus the children of Israel did; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they did.

E hicieron los hijos de Israel conforme a todas las cosas que mandó Jehová a Moisés; así lo hicieron.
