1 T he burden against Egypt. Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

Profecía sobre Egipto. He aquí que Jehová monta sobre una ligera nube, y entrará en Egipto; y los ídolos de Egipto temblarán delante de él, y desfallecerá el corazón de los egipcios dentro de ellos.

2 “ I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom.

Levantaré egipcios contra egipcios, y cada uno peleará contra su hermano, cada uno contra su prójimo; ciudad contra ciudad, y reino contra reino.

3 T he spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers.

Y el espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en medio de él, y destruiré su consejo; y preguntarán a sus imágenes, a sus hechiceros, a sus evocadores y a sus adivinos.

4 A nd the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them,” Says the Lord, the Lord of hosts.

Y entregaré a Egipto en manos de señor duro, y rey violento se enseñoreará de ellos, dice el Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos.

5 T he waters will fail from the sea, And the river will be wasted and dried up.

Y las aguas del mar faltarán, y el río se agotará y secará.

6 T he rivers will turn foul; The brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up; The reeds and rushes will wither.

Y se alejarán los ríos, se agotarán y secarán las corrientes de los fosos; la caña y el carrizo serán cortados.

7 T he papyrus reeds by the River, by the mouth of the River, And everything sown by the River, Will wither, be driven away, and be no more.

La pradera de junto al río, de junto a la ribera del río, y toda sementera del río, se secarán, se perderán, y no serán más.

8 T he fishermen also will mourn; All those will lament who cast hooks into the River, And they will languish who spread nets on the waters.

Los pescadores también se entristecerán; harán duelo todos los que echan anzuelo en el río, y desfallecerán los que extienden red sobre las aguas.

9 M oreover those who work in fine flax And those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed;

Los que labran lino fino y los que tejen redes serán confundidos,

10 A nd its foundations will be broken. All who make wages will be troubled of soul.

porque todas sus redes serán rotas; y se entristecerán todos los que hacen viveros para peces.

11 S urely the princes of Zoan are fools; Pharaoh’s wise counselors give foolish counsel. How do you say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, The son of ancient kings?”

Ciertamente son necios los príncipes de Zoán; el consejo de los prudentes consejeros de Faraón se ha desvanecido. ¿Cómo diréis a Faraón: Yo soy hijo de los sabios, e hijo de los reyes antiguos?

12 W here are they? Where are your wise men? Let them tell you now, And let them know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.

¿Dónde están ahora aquellos tus sabios? Que te digan ahora, o te hagan saber qué es lo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto.

13 T he princes of Zoan have become fools; The princes of Noph are deceived; They have also deluded Egypt, Those who are the mainstay of its tribes.

Se han desvanecido los príncipes de Zoán, se han engañado los príncipes de Menfis; engañaron a Egipto los que son la piedra angular de sus familias.

14 T he Lord has mingled a perverse spirit in her midst; And they have caused Egypt to err in all her work, As a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

Jehová mezcló espíritu de vértigo en medio de él; e hicieron errar a Egipto en toda su obra, como tambalea el ebrio en su vómito.

15 N either will there be any work for Egypt, Which the head or tail, Palm branch or bulrush, may do.

Y no aprovechará a Egipto cosa que haga la cabeza o la cola, la rama o el junco.

16 I n that day Egypt will be like women, and will be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which He waves over it.

En aquel día los egipcios serán como mujeres; porque se asombrarán y temerán en la presencia de la mano alta de Jehová de los ejércitos, que él levantará contra ellos.

17 A nd the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts which He has determined against it. Egypt, Assyria, and Israel Blessed

Y la tierra de Judá será de espanto a Egipto; todo hombre que de ella se acordare temerá por causa del consejo que Jehová de los ejércitos acordó sobre aquél.

18 I n that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by the Lord of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction.

En aquel tiempo habrá cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto que hablen la lengua de Canaán, y que juren por Jehová de los ejércitos; una será llamada la ciudad de Herez.

19 I n that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.

En aquel tiempo habrá altar para Jehová en medio de la tierra de Egipto, y monumento a Jehová junto a su frontera.

20 A nd it will be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.

Y será por señal y por testimonio a Jehová de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto; porque clamarán a Jehová a causa de sus opresores, y él les enviará salvador y príncipe que los libre.

21 T hen the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.

Y Jehová será conocido de Egipto, y los de Egipto conocerán a Jehová en aquel día, y harán sacrificio y oblación; y harán votos a Jehová, y los cumplirán.

22 A nd the Lord will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.

Y herirá Jehová a Egipto; herirá y sanará, y se convertirán a Jehová, y les será clemente y los sanará.

23 I n that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians.

En aquel tiempo habrá una calzada de Egipto a Asiria, y asirios entrarán en Egipto, y egipcios en Asiria; y los egipcios servirán con los asirios a Jehová.

24 I n that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land,

En aquel tiempo Israel será tercero con Egipto y con Asiria para bendición en medio de la tierra;

25 w hom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”

porque Jehová de los ejércitos los bendecirá diciendo: Bendito el pueblo mío Egipto, y el asirio obra de mis manos, e Israel mi heredad.
