1 B ut Job answered and said:

Respondió Job, y dijo:

2 “ How have you helped him who is without power? How have you saved the arm that has no strength?

¿En qué ayudaste al que no tiene poder? ¿Cómo has amparado al brazo sin fuerza?

3 H ow have you counseled one who has no wisdom? And how have you declared sound advice to many?

¿En qué aconsejaste al que no tiene ciencia, Y qué plenitud de inteligencia has dado a conocer?

4 T o whom have you uttered words? And whose spirit came from you?

¿A quién has anunciado palabras, Y de quién es el espíritu que de ti procede?

5 “ The dead tremble, Those under the waters and those inhabiting them.

Las sombras tiemblan en lo profundo, Los mares y cuanto en ellos mora.

6 S heol is naked before Him, And Destruction has no covering.

El Seol está descubierto delante de él, y el Abadón no tiene cobertura.

7 H e stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing.

El extiende el norte sobre vacío, Cuelga la tierra sobre nada.

8 H e binds up the water in His thick clouds, Yet the clouds are not broken under it.

Ata las aguas en sus nubes, Y las nubes no se rompen debajo de ellas.

9 H e covers the face of His throne, And spreads His cloud over it.

El encubre la faz de su trono, Y sobre él extiende su nube.

10 H e drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters, At the boundary of light and darkness.

Puso límite a la superficie de las aguas, Hasta el fin de la luz y las tinieblas.

11 T he pillars of heaven tremble, And are astonished at His rebuke.

Las columnas del cielo tiemblan, Y se espantan a su reprensión.

12 H e stirs up the sea with His power, And by His understanding He breaks up the storm.

El agita el mar con su poder, Y con su entendimiento hiere la arrogancia suya.

13 B y His Spirit He adorned the heavens; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

Su espíritu adornó los cielos; Su mano creó la serpiente tortuosa.

14 I ndeed these are the mere edges of His ways, And how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the thunder of His power who can understand?”

He aquí, estas cosas son sólo los bordes de sus caminos;!! Y cuán leve es el susurro que hemos oído de él! Pero el trueno de su poder, ¿quién lo puede comprender?
