1 К ато изговори това, Исус излезе с учениците Си отвъд потока Кедрон, гдето имаше градина, в която влезе Той и учениците Му.

When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered.

2 А и Юда, който Го предаваше, знаеше това място; защото Исус често се събираше там с учениците Си.

And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples.

3 И тъй, Юда като взе една чета войници и служители от главните свещеници и фарисеите, дойде там с фенери, факли и оръжия.

Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

4 А Исус като знаеше всичко, което щеше да Го сполети, излезе и им рече: Кого търсите?

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”

5 О тговориха Му: Исуса Назарянина. Исус им каза: Аз съм. С тях стоеше и Юда, който Го предаваше.

They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am He. ” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

6 И когато им каза: Аз съм, те се дръпнаха назад и паднаха на земята.

Now when He said to them, “I am He, ” they drew back and fell to the ground.

7 П ак ги попита: Кого търсите? А те рекоха: Исуса Назарянина.

Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

8 И сус отговори: Рекох ви, че съм Аз; прочее, ако Мене търсите оставете тия да си отидат;

Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,”

9 ( за да се изпълни думата казана от Него: От тия, които си Ми дал, ни един не изгубих).

that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

10 А Симон Петър, като имаше нож, измъкна го, удари слугата на първосвещеника, и му отсече дясното ухо; а името на слугата беше Малх.

Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

11 Т огава Исус рече на Петра: Тури ножа в ножницата. Чашата, която Ми даде Отец, да я не пия ли?

So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?” Before the High Priest

12 И тъй, четата, хилядникът и юдейските служители хванаха Исуса и Го вързаха.

Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

13 И заведоха Го първо при Анна; защото той беше тъст на Каиафа, който беше първосвещеник през тая година.

And they led Him away to Annas first, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was high priest that year.

14 А Каиафа, беше онзи, който беше съветвал юдеите, че е по-добре един човек да загине за людете.

Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people. Peter Denies Jesus

15 И подир Исуса вървяха Симон Петър и един друг ученик; и този ученик, като беше познат на първосвещеника, влезе с Исуса в двора на първосвещеника.

And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest.

16 А Петър стоеше вън до вратата; и тъй другият ученик, който беше познат на първосвещеника, излезе та каза на вратарката и въведе Петра.

But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter in.

17 И слугинята вратарка казва на Петра: И ти ли си от учениците на Този човек? Той казва: Не съм.

Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He said, “I am not.”

18 А слугите и служителите бяха наклали огън, защото беше студено, и стояха та се грееха; а и Петър стоеше с тях и се грееше.

Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself. Jesus Questioned by the High Priest

19 А първосвещеникът попита Исуса за учениците Му и за учението Му.

The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.

20 И сус му отговори: Аз говорих явно на света, винаги поучавах в синагогите и в храма, гдето всички юдеи се събират, и нищо не съм говорил скришно.

Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing.

21 З ащо питаш Мене? питай ония, които са Ме слушали, какво съм им говорил; ето, те знаят що съм казвал.

Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed they know what I said.”

22 К огато рече това, един от служителите, който стоеше наблизо, удари плесница на Исуса и рече: Така ли отговаряш на първосвещеника?

And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?”

23 И сус му отговори: Ако съм продумал <нещо> зло, покажи злото; но ако добро, защо ме биеш?

Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”

24 А нна, прочее, Го прати вързан при първосвещеника Каиафа.

Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest. Peter Denies Twice More

25 А Симон Петър стоеше и се грееше; и рекоха му: Не си ли и ти от Неговите ученици? Той отрече казвайки: Не съм.

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not!”

26 Е дин от слугите на първосвещеника, сродник на онзи, комуто Петър отсече ухото, казва: Нали те видях аз в градината с Него?

One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”

27 И Петър пак се отрече; и на часа изпя петел.

Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed. In Pilate’s Court

28 Т огава поведоха Исуса от Каиафа в преторията; а беше рано. Но сами те не влязоха в преторията, за да се не осквернят, та да могат да ядат пасхата.

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.

29 З атова Пилат излезе при тях и каза: В какво обвинявате Тоя човек?

Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?”

30 В отговор му рекоха: Ако не беше Той злодеец, не щяхме да Го предадем на тебе.

They answered and said to him, “If He were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.”

31 А Пилат им рече: Вземете Го вие и Го съдете според вашия закон. Юдеите му рекоха: Нам не е позволено да умъртвим никого,

Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

32 ( за да се изпълни думата, която рече Исус, като означаваше с каква смърт щеше да умре).

that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die.

33 И тъй, Пилат пак влезе в преторията, повика Исуса и Му каза: Ти юдейски Цар ли си?

Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

34 И сус отговори: От себе си ли казваш това, или други са ти говорили за Мене?

Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?”

35 П илат отговори: Че аз юдеин ли съм? Твоят народ и главните свещеници Те предадоха на мене. Какво си сторил?

Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?”

36 И сус отговори: Моето царство не е от този свят; ако беше царството Ми от този свят, служителите Ми щяха да се борят да не бъда предаден на юдеите. А сега царството Ми не е оттук.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

37 З атова Пилат Му каза: Тогава, Ти цар ли си? Исус отговори: Ти <право> казваш, защото Аз съм цар. Аз за това се родих, и за това дойдох на света, да свидетелствувам за истината. Всеки, който е от истината, слуша Моя глас.

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

38 П илат Му каза: Що е истина? И като рече това, пак излезе при юдеите и каза им: Аз не намирам никаква вина в него.

Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all. Taking the Place of Barabbas

39 А у вас има обичай да ви пущам по един на пасхата; желаете ли, прочее, да ви пусна юдейския цар?

“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

40 Т огава те пак закрещяха, казвайки: Не Тоя, но Варава. А Варава беше разбойник.

Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
