8 F inally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tender hearted, courteous,

En conclusión, sean todos de un mismo sentir (tengan todos armonía), compasivos, fraternales, misericordiosos, y de espíritu humilde;

9 n ot rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

no devolviendo mal por mal, o insulto por insulto, sino más bien bendiciendo, porque fueron llamados con el propósito de heredar bendición.

10 F or, “He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.

Porque, “ El que desea la vida, amar y ver dias buenos, refrene su lengua del mal y sus labios no hablen engaño.

11 L et him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.

Apartese del mal y haga el bien; busque la paz y sigala.

12 F or the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

15 B ut sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:

16 h aving a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.

teniendo buena conciencia, para que en aquello en que son calumniados, sean avergonzados los que hablan mal de la buena conducta de ustedes en Cristo.

17 F or it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil.

Pues es mejor padecer por hacer el bien, si así es la voluntad de Dios, que por hacer el mal.

18 B ecause Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Porque también Cristo (el Mesías) murió por los pecados una sola vez, el justo por los injustos, para llevarnos a Dios, muerto en la carne pero vivificado en el espíritu.
