1 Y ahweh spoke to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, “This is what Yahweh says, ‘Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Entonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Ve a Faraón y dile: ‘Así dice el Señor: “Deja ir a Mi pueblo para que Me sirva.

2 I f you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs:

Pero si te niegas a dejar los ir, entonces heriré todo tu territorio con ranas.

3 a nd the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs:

El Nilo se llenará de ranas, que subirán y entrarán en tu casa, en tu alcoba y sobre tu cama, en las casas de tus siervos y en tu pueblo, en tus hornos y en tus artesas.

4 a nd the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.’”

Subirán las ranas sobre ti, sobre tu pueblo y sobre todos tus siervos.”’”

5 Y ahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’”

Dijo además el Señor a Moisés: “Dile a Aarón: ‘Extiende tu mano con tu vara sobre los ríos, sobre los arroyos y sobre los estanques, y haz que suban ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.’”

6 A aron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.

Aarón extendió su mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, y las ranas subieron y cubrieron la tierra de Egipto.

7 T he magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.

Los magos (sacerdotes adivinos) hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos (ciencias ocultas), e hicieron subir ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.

8 T hen Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.”

Entonces Faraón llamó a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: “Rueguen al Señor para que quite las ranas de mí y de mi pueblo, y yo dejaré ir al pueblo para que ofrezca sacrificios al Señor.”

9 M oses said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.”

Moisés dijo a Faraón: “Dígnate decirme cuándo he de rogar por ti, por tus siervos y por tu pueblo, para que las ranas sean quitadas de ti y de tus casas y queden solamente en el río.”

10 H e said, “Tomorrow.” He said, “Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh our God.

“Mañana,” respondió Faraón. Entonces Moisés dijo: “Sea conforme a tu palabra para que sepas que no hay nadie como el Señor nuestro Dios.

11 T he frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”

Las ranas se alejarán de ti, de tus casas, de tus siervos y de tu pueblo; sólo quedarán en el Nilo.”

12 M oses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to Yahweh concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.

Entonces Moisés y Aarón salieron de la presencia de Faraón, y Moisés clamó al Señor acerca de las ranas que El había puesto sobre Faraón.

13 Y ahweh did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

Y el Señor hizo conforme a la palabra de Moisés, y murieron las ranas en las casas, en los patios y en los campos.

14 T hey gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

Las juntaron en montones, y la tierra se corrompió.

15 B ut when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

Pero al ver Faraón que había alivio, endureció su corazón y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho. Tercera Plaga: Los Piojos

16 Y ahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’”

Entonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Dile a Aarón: ‘Extiende tu vara y golpea el polvo de la tierra para que se convierta en piojos por toda la tierra de Egipto.’”

17 T hey did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

Y así lo hicieron. Aarón extendió su mano con su vara, y golpeó el polvo de la tierra, y hubo piojos en hombres y animales. Todo el polvo de la tierra se convirtió en piojos por todo el país de Egipto.

18 T he magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn’t. There were lice on man, and on animal.

Los magos (sacerdotes adivinos) trataron de producir piojos con sus encantamientos (ciencias ocultas), pero no pudieron. Hubo, pues, piojos en hombres y animales.

19 T hen the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger:” and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them; as Yahweh had spoken.

Entonces los magos (sacerdotes adivinos) dijeron a Faraón: “Este es el dedo de Dios.” Pero el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho. Cuarta Plaga: Los insectos

20 Y ahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

El Señor dijo a Moisés: “Levántate muy de mañana y ponte delante de Faraón cuando salga del agua, dile: ‘Así dice el Señor: “Deja ir a Mi pueblo para que Me sirva.

21 E lse, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

Porque si no dejas ir a Mi pueblo, entonces enviaré enjambres de insectos sobre ti y sobre tus siervos, sobre tu pueblo y dentro de tus casas. Las casas de los Egipcios se llenarán de enjambres de insectos, y también el suelo sobre el cual están.

22 I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Yahweh on the earth.

Pero en aquel día Yo pondré aparte la tierra de Gosén en la que mora Mi pueblo, para que no haya allí enjambres de insectos, a fin de que sepas que Yo, el Señor, estoy en medio de la tierra.

23 I will put a division between my people and your people: by tomorrow shall this sign be.”’”

Yo haré distinción entre Mi pueblo y tu pueblo. Mañana tendrá lugar esta señal.”’”

24 Y ahweh did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.

Así lo hizo el Señor. Y entraron grandes enjambres de insectos en la casa de Faraón y en las casas de sus siervos, y en todo el país de Egipto la tierra fue devastada a causa de los enjambres de insectos.

25 P haraoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”

Entonces llamó Faraón a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: “Vayan, ofrezcan sacrificio a su Dios dentro del país.”

26 M oses said, “It isn’t appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Yahweh our God. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and won’t they stone us?

“No conviene que lo hagamos así,” respondió Moisés, “porque es abominación para los Egipcios lo que sacrificaremos al Señor nuestro Dios. Si sacrificamos lo que es abominación para los Egipcios delante de sus ojos, ¿no nos apedrearán?

27 W e will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he shall command us.”

Andaremos una distancia de tres días de camino en el desierto, y ofreceremos sacrificios al Señor nuestro Dios, tal como El nos manda.”

28 P haraoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”

El Faraón dijo: “Los dejaré ir para que ofrezcan sacrificio al Señor su Dios en el desierto, sólo que no vayan muy lejos. Oren por mí.”

29 M oses said, “Behold, I go out from you, and I will pray to Yahweh that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Yahweh.”

“Voy a salir de tu presencia,” le contestó Moisés “y rogaré al Señor que los enjambres de insectos se alejen mañana de Faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo. Pero que Faraón no vuelva a obrar con engaño, no dejando ir al pueblo a ofrecer sacrificios al Señor.”

30 M oses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.

Salió Moisés de la presencia de Faraón y oró al Señor.

31 Y ahweh did according to the word of Moses, and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.

Y el Señor hizo como Moisés Le pidió, y quitó los enjambres de insectos de Faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo. No quedó ni uno solo.

32 P haraoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.

Pero Faraón endureció su corazón también esta vez y no dejó salir al pueblo.
