1 Y ahweh spoke to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, “This is what Yahweh says, ‘Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: —Entra a la presencia del faraón, y dile: “Jehová ha dicho así: ‘Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva,

2 I f you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs:

porque si no lo dejas partir, yo castigaré con ranas todos tus territorios.

3 a nd the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs:

El río criará ranas, las cuales subirán y entrarán en tu casa, en la habitación donde duermes y sobre tu cama; en las casas de tus siervos, en tu pueblo, en tus hornos y en tus artesas.

4 a nd the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.’”

Las ranas subirán sobre ti, sobre tu pueblo y sobre todos tus siervos.’”

5 Y ahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’”

Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: —Di a Aarón: “Extiende tu mano con tu vara sobre los ríos, arroyos y estanques, y haz subir ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.”

6 A aron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.

Entonces Aarón extendió su mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, y subieron ranas que cubrieron la tierra de Egipto.

7 T he magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.

Pero los hechiceros hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos, e hicieron venir ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.

8 T hen Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.”

Entonces el faraón llamó a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo: —Orad a Jehová para que aparte las ranas de mí y de mi pueblo, y dejaré ir a tu pueblo para que ofrezca sacrificios a Jehová.

9 M oses said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.”

Respondió Moisés al faraón: —Dígnate indicarme cuándo debo orar por ti, por tus siervos y por tu pueblo, para que las ranas se aparten de ti y de tus casas, y queden solamente en el río.

10 H e said, “Tomorrow.” He said, “Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh our God.

—Mañana —dijo él. Moisés respondió: —Se hará conforme a tu palabra, para que conozcas que no hay como Jehová, nuestro Dios.

11 T he frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”

Las ranas se apartarán de ti y de tus casas, de tus siervos y de tu pueblo, y solamente quedarán en el río.

12 M oses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to Yahweh concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.

Entonces salieron Moisés y Aarón de la presencia del faraón. Moisés clamó a Jehová tocante a las ranas que había mandado sobre el faraón.

13 Y ahweh did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

E hizo Jehová conforme a la palabra de Moisés: murieron las ranas de las casas, de los cortijos y de los campos.

14 T hey gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

Las juntaron en montones, y apestaba la tierra.

15 B ut when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

Pero al ver el faraón que le habían dado reposo, endureció su corazón y no los escuchó, tal como Jehová lo había dicho. La plaga de piojos

16 Y ahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’”

Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: —Di a Aarón: “Extiende tu vara y golpea el polvo de la tierra, para que se convierta en piojos por todo el país de Egipto.”

17 T hey did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

Ellos lo hicieron así; Aarón extendió su mano con la vara y golpeó el polvo de la tierra, el cual se convirtió en piojos que se lanzaron sobre los hombres y las bestias. Todo el polvo de la tierra se convirtió en piojos en todo el país de Egipto.

18 T he magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn’t. There were lice on man, and on animal.

Los hechiceros también intentaron sacar piojos con sus encantamientos, pero no pudieron. Hubo, pues, piojos tanto en los hombres como en las bestias.

19 T hen the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger:” and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them; as Yahweh had spoken.

Entonces los hechiceros dijeron al faraón: —Es el dedo de Dios. Pero el corazón del faraón se endureció, y no los escuchó, tal como Jehová lo había dicho. La plaga de moscas

20 Y ahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Jehová dijo a Moisés: —Levántate de mañana y ponte delante del faraón, cuando él salga al río, y dile: “Jehová ha dicho así: Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva,

21 E lse, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

porque si no dejas ir a mi pueblo, yo enviaré sobre ti, sobre tus siervos, sobre tu pueblo y sobre tus casas toda clase de moscas; las casas de los egipcios se llenarán de toda clase de moscas, y asimismo la tierra donde ellos estén.

22 I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Yahweh on the earth.

Aquel día yo apartaré la tierra de Gosén, en la cual habita mi pueblo, para que no haya en ella ninguna clase de moscas, a fin de que sepas que yo soy Jehová en medio de la tierra.

23 I will put a division between my people and your people: by tomorrow shall this sign be.”’”

Y yo pondré redención entre mi pueblo y el tuyo. Mañana será esta señal.”

24 Y ahweh did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.

Jehová lo hizo así, y vino toda clase de moscas molestísimas sobre la casa del faraón, sobre las casas de sus siervos y sobre todo el país de Egipto; la tierra fue corrompida a causa de ellas.

25 P haraoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”

Entonces el faraón llamó a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo: —Andad, ofreced sacrificio a vuestro Dios, pero dentro del país.

26 M oses said, “It isn’t appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Yahweh our God. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and won’t they stone us?

Moisés respondió: —No conviene que hagamos así, porque ofreceríamos a Jehová, nuestro Dios, lo que es la abominación para los egipcios. Si sacrificáramos lo que es abominación para los egipcios delante de ellos, ¿no nos apedrearían?

27 W e will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he shall command us.”

Iremos por el desierto, tres días de camino, y ofreceremos sacrificios a Jehová, nuestro Dios, como él nos diga.

28 P haraoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”

Dijo el faraón: —Yo os dejaré ir para que ofrezcáis sacrificios a Jehová, vuestro Dios, en el desierto, con tal que no vayáis más lejos; orad por mí.

29 M oses said, “Behold, I go out from you, and I will pray to Yahweh that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Yahweh.”

Y Moisés respondió: —Al salir yo de tu presencia, rogaré a Jehová que las diversas clases de moscas se alejen del faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo mañana; con tal de que el faraón no nos engañe más, impidiendo que el pueblo vaya a ofrecer sacrificios a Jehová.

30 M oses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.

Entonces Moisés salió de la presencia del faraón, y oró a Jehová.

31 Y ahweh did according to the word of Moses, and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.

Jehová hizo conforme a la palabra de Moisés y apartó todas aquellas moscas del faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo, sin que quedara una.

32 P haraoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.

Pero también esta vez el faraón endureció su corazón y no dejó partir al pueblo.
