1 Y ahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

Jehová habló a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo:

2 “ This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, and which was never yoked.

«Ésta es la ordenanza de la ley que Jehová ha prescrito, diciendo: Di a los hijos de Israel que te traigan una vaca rojiza, perfecta, en la cual no haya falta, sobre la cual no se haya puesto yugo.

3 Y ou shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face.

La daréis a Eleazar, el sacerdote, quien la sacará fuera del campamento y la hará degollar en su presencia.

4 E leazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times.

Entonces Eleazar, el sacerdote, tomará de la sangre con su dedo y rociará siete veces con ella hacia la parte delantera del Tabernáculo de reunión.

5 O ne shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn.

Después hará quemar la vaca ante sus ojos; hará quemar su cuero, su carne, su sangre y hasta su estiércol.

6 T he priest shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer.

Luego tomará el sacerdote madera de cedro, hisopo y tela roja, y lo echará en medio del fuego en que arde la vaca.

7 T hen the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening.

El sacerdote lavará luego sus vestidos, lavará también su cuerpo con agua y después entrará en el campamento; y el sacerdote quedará impuro hasta la noche.

8 H e who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.

Asimismo el que la quemó lavará sus vestidos en agua, también lavará en agua su cuerpo, y quedará impuro hasta la noche.

9 “ A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water for impurity. It is a sin offering.

Un hombre que esté puro recogerá las cenizas de la vaca y las pondrá fuera del campamento en lugar limpio, y las guardará la congregación de los hijos de Israel para el agua de purificación; es un sacrificio de expiación.

10 H e who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. It shall be to the children of Israel, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever.

El que recogió las cenizas de la vaca lavará sus vestidos, y quedará impuro hasta la noche. Éste será estatuto perpetuo para los hijos de Israel y para el extranjero que habita entre ellos.

11 “ He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.

»El que toque un cadáver de cualquier persona, quedará impuro siete días.

12 H e shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.

Al tercer día se purificará con aquella agua, y al séptimo día será limpio. Si al tercer día no se purifica, no será limpio al séptimo día.

13 W hoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles Yahweh’s tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him.

Todo aquel que toque un cadáver de cualquier persona, y no se purifique, contamina el tabernáculo de Jehová. Esa persona será eliminada de Israel, por cuanto el agua de la purificación no fue rociada sobre él: impuro quedará, y su impureza permanecerá sobre él.

14 “ This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.

»Ésta es la ley para cuando alguien muera en la tienda: cualquiera que entre en la tienda, y todo el que esté en ella, quedará impuro durante siete días.

15 E very open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean.

Y toda vasija abierta, cuya tapa no esté bien ajustada, será inmunda.

16 “ Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

»Cualquiera que en campo abierto toque a algún muerto a espada, o algún cadáver o hueso humano o sepulcro, siete días quedará impuro.

17 “ For the unclean, they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin offering; and running water shall be poured into a vessel.

»Para el impuro tomarán de la ceniza de la vaca quemada de la expiación, y echarán sobre ella agua corriente en un recipiente.

18 A clean person shall take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the vessels, on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave.

Luego un hombre que esté puro tomará hisopo, lo mojará en el agua y rociará sobre la tienda, sobre todos los muebles, sobre las personas que allí estén, y sobre aquel que haya tocado el hueso, el asesinado, el muerto o el sepulcro.

19 T he clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day. On the seventh day, he shall purify him. He shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening.

El hombre que esté puro rociará sobre el impuro los días tercero y séptimo, y cuando lo haya purificado al séptimo día, lavará sus vestidos, se lavará a sí mismo con agua y quedará limpio por la noche.

20 B ut the man who shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from the middle of the assembly, because he has defiled the sanctuary of Yahweh. The water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him. He is unclean.

La persona impura que no se purifique, será eliminada de en medio de la congregación, por cuanto contaminó el tabernáculo de Jehová; no fue rociada sobre él el agua de la purificación: es impuro.

21 I t shall be a perpetual statute to them. He who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening.

Les será estatuto perpetuo. También el que rocíe el agua de la purificación lavará sus vestidos, y el que toque el agua de la purificación quedará impuro hasta la noche.

22 “ Whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the soul that touches it shall be unclean until evening.”

Y todo lo que el impuro toque, será inmundo; y la persona que lo toque a él, quedará impura hasta la noche.»
