1 W hat was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life—

2 a nd the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—

3 w hat we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

quello che abbiamo visto e udito, noi ve lo annunziamo, affinché anche voi abbiate comunione con noi, e la nostra comunione è col Padre e col suo Figlio, Gesú Cristo,

4 T hese things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. God Is Light

E vi scriviamo queste cose affinché la vostra gioia sia completa.

5 T his is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

Or questo è il messaggio che abbiamo udito da lui, e che vi annunziamo: Dio è luce e in lui non vi è tenebra alcuna.

6 I f we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;

Se diciamo di avere comunione con lui e camminiamo nelle tenebre, noi mentiamo e non mettiamo in pratica la verità;

7 b ut if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

ma se camminiamo nella luce, come egli è nella luce, abbiamo comunione gli uni con gli altri, e il sangue di Gesú Cristo, suo Figlio, ci purifica da ogni peccato.

8 I f we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Se diciamo di essere senza peccato inganniamo noi stessi e la verità non è in noi.

9 I f we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Se confessiamo i nostri peccati, egli è fedele e giusto, da perdonarci i peccati e purificarci da ogni iniquità.

10 I f we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

Se diciamo di non aver peccato, lo facciamo bugiardo e la sua parola non è in noi.
