1 А някой си човек на име Анания, с жена си Сапфира, продаде имот,

A man by the name of Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, sold some land.

2 и задържа <нещо> от цената, със знанието на жена си; и донесе една част и я сложи пред нозете на апостолите.

He kept back part of the money for himself. His wife knew it also. The other part he took to the missionaries.

3 А Петър рече: Анание, защо изпълни сатана сърцето ти, да излъжеш Светия Дух и да задържиш от цената на нивата?

Peter said to Ananias, “Why did you let Satan fill your heart? He made you lie to the Holy Spirit. You kept back part of the money you got from your land.

4 Д огдето стоеше <непродадена> не беше ли твоя? И след като се продаде, не бяха ли <парите> в твоя власт? Защо си намислил това нещо в сърцето си? Не си излъгал човеци, но Бога.

Was not the land yours before you sold it? After it was sold, you could have done what you wanted to do with the money. Why did you allow your heart to do this? You have lied to God, not to men.”

5 И Анания, като слушаше тия думи, падна и издъхна; и голям страх обзе всички, които чуха това.

When Ananias heard these words, he fell down dead. Much fear came on all those who heard what was done.

6 И по-младите мъже станаха, обвиха го и го изнесоха та го погребаха.

The young men got up and covered his body and carried him out and buried him.

7 И като се минаха около три часа, влезе жена му, без да знае за станалото.

About three hours later his wife came in. She did not know what had happened.

8 И Петър я попита: Кажи ми за толкова ли продадохте нивата? И тя рече: За толкова.

Peter said to her, “Tell me, did you sell the land for this amount of money?” She said, “Yes.”

9 А Петър <й рече>: Защо се съгласихте да изкусите Господния Дух? Ето нозете на тия, които погребаха мъжа ти, са на вратата, и ще изнесат и тебе.

Then Peter said to her, “How could you two have talked together about lying to the Holy Spirit? See! Those who buried your husband are standing at the door and they will carry you out also.”

10 И тя на часа падна до нозете му и издъхна; а момците, като влязоха, намериха я мъртва, и изнесоха я, та я погребаха до мъжа й.

At once she fell down at his feet and died. When the young men came in, they found that she was dead. They took her out and buried her beside her husband.

11 И голям страх обзе цялата църква и всички, които чуха това.

Much fear came on all the church and on all who heard it. The First Church Grows

12 И чрез ръцете на апостолите ставаха много знамения и чудеса между людете, (и те всички бяха единодушно в Соломоновия трем;

The missionaries did many powerful works among the people. They gathered together on Solomon’s Porch.

13 а от другите никой не смееше да се присъедини към тях; людете, обаче, ги величаеха;

No one from outside their own group came in with them because they were afraid. But those outside the church had respect for the followers.

14 и още по-голямо множество повярвали в Господа мъже и жени се прибавяха),

Many more men and women put their trust in Christ and were added to the group.

15 т ака щото даже изнасяха болните по улиците и ги слагаха на постелки и на легла, та, като заминаваше Петър, поне сянката му да засегне някого от тях.

They brought the sick people and laid them on the streets hoping that if Peter walked by, his shadow would fall on some of them.

16 С ъбираше се още и множество от градовете около Ерусалим та носеха болни и измъчваните от нечистите духове; и всички се изцеляваха.

Many people went into Jerusalem from towns nearby. They took with them their sick people and all who were troubled with demons. All of them were healed. The Missionaries Are Put in Prison

17 Т огава станаха първосвещеникът и всички, които бяха с него, съставляващи садукейската секта, та, изпълнени със завист,

The head religious leader heard this. Some of the religious group who believe no one will be raised from the dead also heard of the people being healed. They became very jealous.

18 т уриха ръце на апостолите и положиха ги в общата тъмница.

They took hold of the missionaries and put them in prison.

19 Н о ангел от Господа през нощта отвори вратата на тъмницата та ги изведе и рече:

An angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison in the night and let them out. The angel said to them,

20 И дете, застанете в храма та говорете на людете всичките думи на тоя живот.

“Go, stand where you have been standing in the house of God. Keep on telling the people about this new life.”

21 Т е, като чуха <това>, на съмване влязоха в храма и поучаваха. А първосвещеникът дойде с ония, които бяха с него и, като свикаха синедриона и цялото старейшинство на израилтяните, пратиха в тъмницата да доведат <апостолите>.

When Peter and John heard this, they went in the house of God early in the morning and began to teach. When the head religious leader and those with him had come, they gathered the men of the court and the leaders of the Jews together. Then they sent to have the missionaries brought to them from the prison.

22 Н о служителите, като отидоха, не ги намериха в тъмницата; и върнаха се та известиха, казвайки:

When the soldiers got there, they did not find them in prison. They went back and told the court.

23 Т ъмницата намерихме заключена твърде здраво, и стражарите да стоят при вратата; но като отворихме, не намерихме никого вътре.

The soldiers said, “We found the door of the prison locked and the soldiers watching the doors. When we opened the door, we found no one inside.”

24 А началникът на храмовата <стража> и главните свещеници като чуха тия думи, бяха в недоумение поради тях, <та се чудеха> какво ще последва от това.

When the religious leaders and the leader of the house of God heard this, they were much troubled as to what might happen.

25 Н о дойде някой си та им извести: Ето човеците, които турихте в тъмницата, стоят в храма и поучават людете.

Then someone came and told them, “The men you put in prison are now standing in the house of God and teaching the people.”

26 Т огава отиде началникът със служителите и ги доведе, <обаче>, без насилие, защото се бояха от людете, да не би да ги замерват с камъни.

The leader of the house of God took his men and got them. They did not hurt the missionaries because they were afraid the people would throw stones at them.

27 И като ги доведоха, поставиха ги пред синедриона; и първосвещеникът ги попита, казвайки:

They brought the missionaries in and made them stand in front of the court. The head religious leader said,

28 С трого ви запретихме да не поучавате в това име; но ето напълнили сте Ерусалим с учението си, и възнамерявате да докарате върху нас кръвта на тоя човек.

“We told you not to teach about Christ! See! You are spreading this teaching over all Jerusalem. Now you are making it look as if we are guilty of killing this Man.” The Missionaries Speak the Truth

29 А Петър и апостолите в отговор рекоха: Подобава да се покоряваме на Бога, а не на човеците.

Then Peter and the missionaries said, “We must obey God instead of men!

30 Б ог на бащите ни възкреси Исуса, Когото вие убихте като Го повесихте на дърво.

The God of our early fathers raised up Jesus, the One you killed and nailed to a cross.

31 Н его Бог възвиси до десницата Си за Началник и Спасител, да даде покаяние на Израиля и прощение на греховете.

God raised this Man to His own right side as a leader and as the One Who saves from the punishment of sin. He makes it possible for the Jews to be sorry for their sins. Then they can turn from them and be forgiven.

32 И ние сме свидетели за тия неща, <както е> и Светият Дух, когото Бог даде на ония, които Му се покоряват.

We have seen these things and are telling about them. The Holy Spirit makes these things known also. God gives His Spirit to those who obey Him.” Gamaliel Speaks in Court

33 А те, като чуха това, късаха се <от яд>, и възнамеряваха да ги убият.

The religious leaders became angry when they heard this. They planned to kill the missionaries.

34 Н о един фарисей, на име Гамалиил, законоучител, почитан от всички люде, се изправи в синедриона и заповяда да извадят вън апостолите за малко време;

Gamaliel was a man of the religious leaders’ court. He was a proud religious law-keeper and a teacher of the Law. He was respected by all the people. He stood up and said that the missionaries should be sent outside for a short time.

35 и рече на събора: Израилтяни, внимавайте добре какво ще направите на тия човеци.

Then Gamaliel said to the court, “Jewish men, be careful what you plan to do with these men.

36 З ащото в предишни дни въстана Тевда и представяше себе си за голям човек, към когото се присъединиха около четиристотин мъже на брой; който биде убит, и всички, които му се покоряваха, се разпиляха и изчезнаха.

Remember that many years ago a man called Theudas made himself out to be someone great. He had about 400 followers. He was killed. His followers were divided and nothing came of his teaching.

37 С лед него въстана галилеянинът Юда през времето на записването, и отвлече след себе си <някои от> людете; и той загина, и всички, които му се покоряваха, се разпръснаха.

After him, Judas of the country of Galilee gathered many followers. It was the time for every person to have his name written in the books of the nation. This Judas was killed also. All his followers were divided and went away.

38 И сега ви казвам, оттеглете се от тия човеци и оставете ги, защото, ако това намерение или това дело е от човеци, ще се повали;

I say to you now, stay away from these men and leave them alone. If this teaching and work is from men, it will come to nothing.

39 н о ако е от Бога, не ще можете го повали. <Пазете се> да не би да се намерите и богопротивници.

If it is from God, you will not be able to stop it. You may even find yourselves fighting against God.”

40 И те го послушаха: и, като повикаха апостолите, биха ги, и заръчаха им да не говорят в Исусовото име, и ги пуснаха.

The court agreed with Gamaliel. So they called the missionaries in and beat them. They told them they must not speak in the name of Jesus. Then they were sent away.

41 А те си отидоха от синедриона, възрадвани загдето се удостоиха да претърпят опозоряване за <Исусовото> име.

So the missionaries went away from the court happy that they could suffer shame because of His Name.

42 И ни един ден не преставаха да поучават и да благовествуват и в храма и по къщите си, че Исус е Христос.

Every day in the house of God and in the homes, they kept teaching and preaching about Jesus Christ.
