1 F ariseii şi câţiva dintre cărturarii care veniseră de la Ierusalim s-au adunat la El

The Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered around Him when they had come from Jerusalem,

2 ş i i-au văzut pe câţiva dintre ucenicii Lui că mănâncă cu mâinile „necurate“, adică nespălate. –

and had seen that some of His disciples were eating their bread with impure hands, that is, unwashed.

3 C ăci fariseii şi toţi iudeii nu mănâncă dacă nu-şi spală cu atenţie mâinile, respectând astfel tradiţia bătrânilor.

(For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, thus observing the traditions of the elders;

4 I ar când se întorc de la piaţă, nu mănâncă dacă nu s-au scăldat. Şi mai sunt multe alte lucruri pe care le-au luat să le respecte, cum ar fi: spălarea paharelor, a ulcioarelor, a vaselor de bronz (şi a paturilor) –

and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they cleanse themselves; and there are many other things which they have received in order to observe, such as the washing of cups and pitchers and copper pots.)

5 A tunci fariseii şi cărturarii L-au întrebat pe Isus: – De ce ucenicii Tăi nu respectă tradiţia bătrânilor, ci mănâncă cu mâinile „necurate“?

The Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?”

6 E l le-a răspuns: – Ipocriţilor! Bine a profeţit Isaia despre voi, aşa cum este scris: „Poporul acesta Mă cinsteşte cu buzele, dar inima lui este departe de Mine!

And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘ This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.

7 D egeaba însă Mi se închină ei, dând ca învăţături nişte porunci de-ale oamenilor!“

‘ But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’

8 V oi lăsaţi porunca lui Dumnezeu şi ţineţi tradiţia oamenilor!

Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”

9 A poi le-a zis: „Şi aţi respins frumos porunca lui Dumnezeu ca să ţineţi tradiţia voastră!

He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.

10 C ăci Moise a zis: «Cinsteşte-i pe tatăl tău şi pe mama ta!» şi «Cel ce îşi blestemă tatăl sau mama trebuie să fie pedepsit cu moartea.»

For Moses said, ‘ Honor your father and your mother ’; and, ‘ He who speaks evil of father or mother, is to be put to death ’;

11 Î nsă voi ziceţi: «Dacă un om spune tatălui său sau mamei sale: ‘Orice ai putea primi de la mine este korban ’ – adică este deja închinat ca dar lui Dumnezeu –,

but you say, ‘If a man says to his father or his mother, whatever I have that would help you is Corban (that is to say, given to God ),’

12 p e acela nu-l mai lăsaţi să facă nimic pentru tatăl sau mama lui!»

you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother;

13 Ş i anulaţi astfel Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu prin tradiţia voastră pe care o răspândiţi! Şi faceţi multe alte lucruri de felul acesta!“ Lucrurile care-l spurcă pe om

thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.” The Heart of Man

14 I sus a chemat din nou mulţimea şi a zis: „Ascultaţi-Mă cu toţii şi înţelegeţi!

After He called the crowd to Him again, He began saying to them, “Listen to Me, all of you, and understand:

15 N u există nimic din afara omului, care, intrând în el, să-l poată spurca, ci ceea ce iese din om, aceea îl spurcă!“

there is nothing outside the man which can defile him if it goes into him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man.

16 ( Dacă cineva are urechi de auzit, să audă!)

'> If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” ]

17 D upă ce a lăsat mulţimea şi a intrat în casă, ucenicii Lui L-au întrebat despre pildă.

When he had left the crowd and entered the house, His disciples questioned Him about the parable.

18 E l le-a zis: „Şi voi tot fără pricepere sunteţi? Nu înţelegeţi că orice intră în om din afară nu-l poate spurca,

And He said to them, “Are you so lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him,

19 f iindcă nu intră în inima lui, ci în stomac, iar apoi este aruncat afară, în latrină?“ A declarat astfel curate toate bucatele.

because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?” ( Thus He declared all foods clean.)

20 A poi a zis: „Ceea ce iese din om, aceea îl spurcă pe om.

And He was saying, “ That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man.

21 C ăci dinăuntru, din inima omului, ies gândurile rele, curviile, furturile, crimele,

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries,

22 a dulterele, lăcomia, răutatea, înşelăciunea, depravarea, ochiul rău, blasfemia, mândria şi prostia!

deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness.

23 T oate aceste rele ies dinăuntru şi ele îl spurcă pe om!“ Credinţa femeii siro-feniciene

All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.” The Syrophoenician Woman

24 I sus a plecat de acolo şi S-a dus în regiunile Tirului. Vrând să nu ştie nimeni că se află acolo, a intrat într-o casă, dar n-a putut rămâne neobservat,

Jesus got up and went away from there to the region of Tyre. And when He had entered a house, He wanted no one to know of it; yet He could not escape notice.

25 c ăci imediat, o femeie care auzise despre El şi a cărei fetiţă avea un duh necurat, a venit la El şi I-a căzut la picioare.

But after hearing of Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately came and fell at His feet.

26 F emeia era o grecoaică, originară din Siro-Fenicia. Ea L-a rugat să scoată demonul din fetiţa ei,

Now the woman was a Gentile, of the Syrophoenician race. And she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

27 d ar Isus i-a zis: – Lasă să se sature mai întâi copiii, căci nu este bine să se ia pâinea copiilor şi să se arunce la căţeluşi!

And He was saying to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

28 – Da, Doamne, I-a zis ea, dar şi căţeluşii de sub masă mănâncă din firimiturile copiilor!

But she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table feed on the children’s crumbs.”

29 A tunci El i-a zis: – Pentru răspunsul acesta, du-te; demonul a ieşit din fetiţa ta!

And He said to her, “Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

30 E a a plecat acasă şi a găsit copilul culcat pe pat, iar demonul ieşise. Isus vindecă un surdo-mut

And going back to her home, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.

31 I sus S-a întors din regiunea Tirului şi S-a dus, prin Sidon, la Marea Galileii, trecând prin regiunea Decapolis.

Again He went out from the region of Tyre, and came through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, within the region of Decapolis.

32 A u adus la El un surd, care totodată vorbea greu, şi L-au rugat să-Şi pună mâna peste El.

They brought to Him one who was deaf and spoke with difficulty, and they implored Him to lay His hand on him.

33 I sus l-a luat deoparte din mulţime, Şi-a pus degetele în urechile lui şi i-a atins limba cu saliva Lui.

Jesus took him aside from the crowd, by himself, and put His fingers into his ears, and after spitting, He touched his tongue with the saliva;

34 A poi a privit spre cer, a oftat şi i-a zis: „ Efata!“, care înseamnă: „Deschide-te!“

and looking up to heaven with a deep sigh, He said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”

35 Ş i (imediat) i s-au deschis urechile, i s-a descleştat limba şi a început să vorbească desluşit.

And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was removed, and he began speaking plainly.

36 I sus le-a poruncit să nu spună nimănui, dar cu cât le poruncea să nu spună, cu atât ei vesteau aceasta mai mult.

And He gave them orders not to tell anyone; but the more He ordered them, the more widely they continued to proclaim it.

37 E i erau uimiţi peste măsură şi ziceau: „El pe toate le face bine; chiar şi pe surzi îi face să audă, iar pe muţi, să vorbească!“

They were utterly astonished, saying, “He has done all things well; He makes even the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”
