1 A ceştia sunt urmaşii lui Aaron şi ai lui Moise, de pe vremea când Domnul a vorbit cu Moise pe muntele Sinai.

Now these are the records of the generations of Aaron and Moses at the time when the Lord spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.

2 A cestea sunt numele fiilor lui Aaron: Nadab, întâiul născut, Abihu, Elazar şi Itamar;

These then are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

3 a cestea sunt numele fiilor lui Aaron, preoţii care au primit ungerea, pe care el i-a învestit în slujba preoţiei.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests, whom he ordained to serve as priests.

4 N adab şi Abihu au murit înaintea Domnului în pustia Sinai, atunci când au adus foc străin înaintea Domnului; ei n-au avut copii. Elazar şi Itamar au slujit ca preoţi în prezenţa tatălui lor Aaron.

But Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord when they offered strange fire before the Lord in the wilderness of Sinai; and they had no children. So Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests in the lifetime of their father Aaron.

5 D omnul i-a zis lui Moise:

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

6 „ Adu-i pe cei din seminţia lui Levi şi pune-i înaintea preotului Aaron ca să-i slujească.

“ Bring the tribe of Levi near and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may serve him.

7 E i să-l ajute în lucrurile pe care le are de făcut pentru el şi pentru întreaga adunare înaintea Cortului Întâlnirii, slujind la Tabernacul;

They shall perform the duties for him and for the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

8 a tunci când slujesc la Tabernacul, ei trebuie să aibă grijă de toate lucrurile din Cortul Întâlnirii şi să ajute la ceea ce li s-a poruncit israeliţilor să facă.

They shall also keep all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, along with the duties of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

9 S ă-i încredinţezi pe leviţi lui Aaron şi urmaşilor săi; ei sunt aceia dintre israeliţi care trebuie să-i fie încredinţaţi lui cu totul.

You shall thus give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons; they are wholly given to him from among the sons of Israel.

10 S ă-i pui pe Aaron şi pe urmaşii lui să-şi păzească preoţia, iar străinul care se va apropia să fie omorât.“ Leviţii şi întâii născuţi ai lui Israel

So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons that they may keep their priesthood, but the layman who comes near shall be put to death.”

11 D omnul i-a mai zis lui Moise:

Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

12 „ Iată că i-am luat pe leviţi din mijlocul israeliţilor, în locul tuturor întâilor născuţi care li se nasc israeliţilor. Leviţii vor fi ai Mei,

“Now, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of every firstborn, the first issue of the womb among the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall be Mine.

13 p entru că toţi întâii născuţi sunt ai Mei; când i-am lovit cu moartea pe toţi întâii născuţi din ţara Egiptului, Mi i-am pus deoparte pe toţi întâii născuţi din Israel, atât dintre oameni, cât şi dintre animale; ei vor fi ai Mei. Eu sunt Domnul. “

For all the firstborn are Mine; on the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, from man to beast. They shall be Mine; I am the Lord.”

14 D omnul i-a vorbit lui Moise în pustia Sinai şi i-a zis:

Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15 „ Numără-i pe leviţi după familiile şi clanurile lor. Să numeri fiecare bărbat de la vârsta de o lună în sus.“

“ Number the sons of Levi by their fathers’ households, by their families; every male from a month old and upward you shall number.”

16 M oise i-a numărat după Cuvântul Domnului, aşa cum i s-a poruncit.

So Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, just as he had been commanded.

17 A cestea sunt numele fiilor lui Levi: Gherşon, Chehat şi Merari.

These then are the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.

18 A cestea sunt numele fiilor lui Gherşon, potrivit clanurilor lor: Libni şi Şimei.

These are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei;

19 F iii lui Chehat, potrivit clanurilor lor: Amram, Iţhar, Hebron şi Uziel.

and the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel;

20 I ar fiii lui Merari, potrivit clanurilor lor: Mahli şi Muşi. Acestea sunt clanurile leviţilor, potrivit familiilor lor.

and the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ households.

21 D in Gherşon provin clanul lui Libni şi clanul lui Şimei; acestea alcătuiesc clanurile gherşoniţilor.

Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites and the family of the Shimeites; these were the families of the Gershonites.

22 C ei ieşiţi la numărătoare, după ce au fost număraţi toţi bărbaţii de la vârsta de o lună în sus, erau în număr de şapte mii cinci sute.

Their numbered men, in the numbering of every male from a month old and upward, even their numbered men were 7, 500.

23 C lanurile gherşoniţilor îşi făceau tabăra în spatele Tabernaculului, în partea de apus.

The families of the Gershonites were to camp behind the tabernacle westward,

24 C ăpetenia familiilor gherşoniţilor era Eliasaf, fiul lui Lael.

and the leader of the fathers’ households of the Gershonites was Eliasaph the son of Lael. Duties of the Priests

25 R esponsabilitatea fiilor lui Gherşon în Cortul Întâlnirii era să aibă grijă de Tabernacul, de cort cu acoperitoarea lui, de draperia de la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii,

Now the duties of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting involved the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the screen for the doorway of the tent of meeting,

and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the doorway of the court which is around the tabernacle and the altar, and its cords, according to all the service concerning them.

27 D in Chehat provin clanul amramiţilor, clanul iţhariţilor, clanul hebroniţilor şi clanul uzieliţilor; acestea alcătuiesc clanurile chehatiţilor.

Of Kohath was the family of the Amramites and the family of the Izharites and the family of the Hebronites and the family of the Uzzielites; these were the families of the Kohathites.

28 D upă ce au fost număraţi toţi bărbaţii de la vârsta de o lună în sus, s-au găsit opt mii şase sute de bărbaţi care aveau grijă de lucrurile Lăcaşului.

In the numbering of every male from a month old and upward, there were 8, 600, performing the duties of the sanctuary.

29 C lanurile chehatiţilor îşi făceau tabăra în partea de sud a Tabernaculului.

The families of the sons of Kohath were to camp on the southward side of the tabernacle,

30 C ăpetenia familiilor din clanurile chehatiţilor era Eliţafan, fiul lui Uziel.

and the leader of the fathers’ households of the Kohathite families was Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.

31 R esponsabilitatea lor era să aibă grijă de chivot, masă, sfeşnic, altare, de uneltele Lăcaşului cu care preoţii îşi făceau slujba şi de draperie.

Now their duties involved the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which they minister, and the screen, and all the service concerning them;

32 C ăpetenia conducătorilor leviţilor era Elazar, fiul preotului Aaron; el îi supraveghea pe cei care aveau grijă de Lăcaş.

and Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest was the chief of the leaders of Levi, and had the oversight of those who perform the duties of the sanctuary.

33 D in Merari provin clanul lui Mahli şi clanul lui Muşi; acestea alcătuiesc clanurile lui Merari.

Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites; these were the families of Merari.

34 C ei ieşiţi la numărătoare, după ce au fost număraţi toţi bărbaţii de la vârsta de o lună în sus, erau şase mii două sute de bărbaţi.

Their numbered men in the numbering of every male from a month old and upward, were 6, 200.

35 C ăpetenia familiilor din clanurile lui Merari era Ţuriel, fiul lui Abihail. Ei îşi făceau tabăra în partea de nord a Tabernaculului.

The leader of the fathers’ households of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They were to camp on the northward side of the tabernacle.

36 R esponsabilitatea dată fiilor lui Merari era să aibă grijă de scândurile Tabernaculului, de drugi, stâlpi, piedestale şi de toate uneltele ce ţin de ele;

Now the appointed duties of the sons of Merari involved the frames of the tabernacle, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, all its equipment, and the service concerning them,

37 d e asemenea, ei aveau grijă de stâlpii care împrejmuiau curtea, de piedestalele acestora, de ţăruşi şi de funii.

and the pillars around the court with their sockets and their pegs and their cords.

38 C ei care-şi făceau tabăra înaintea Tabernaculului, în partea de răsărit – chiar înaintea Cortului Întâlnirii, spre răsărit – erau Moise, Aaron şi fiii lui Aaron. Ei aveau în grijă Lăcaşul cu tot ce trebuia făcut pentru israeliţi; oricine altcineva care se apropia era omorât.

Now those who were to camp before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrise, are Moses and Aaron and his sons, performing the duties of the sanctuary for the obligation of the sons of Israel; but the layman coming near was to be put to death.

39 T oţi leviţii pe care i-a numărat Moise şi Aaron după porunca Domnului, potrivit clanurilor lor, şi anume toţi bărbaţii de la vârsta de o lună în sus, au fost douăzeci şi două de mii.

All the numbered men of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the command of the Lord by their families, every male from a month old and upward, were 22, 000. Firstborn Redeemed

40 A poi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Numără-i pe toţi întâii născuţi băieţi ai israeliţilor, de la vârsta de o lună în sus, şi fă o listă cu numele lor.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “ Number every firstborn male of the sons of Israel from a month old and upward, and make a list of their names.

41 P e leviţi să-i iei pentru Mine – Eu sunt Domnul – în locul tuturor întâilor născuţi ai israeliţilor, iar vitele leviţilor să le iei în locul tuturor întâilor născuţi ai vitelor israeliţilor.“

You shall take the Levites for Me, I am the Lord, instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the cattle of the sons of Israel.”

42 M oise i-a numărat pe toţi întâii născuţi ai israeliţilor, aşa cum i-a poruncit Domnul.

So Moses numbered all the firstborn among the sons of Israel, just as the Lord had commanded him;

43 T oţi întâii născuţi băieţi de la vârsta de o lună în sus, înscrişi după numele lor, au fost douăzeci şi două de mii două sute şaptezeci şi trei.

and all the firstborn males by the number of names from a month old and upward, for their numbered men were 22, 273.

44 D upă aceea, Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

45 „ Ia-i pe leviţi în locul tuturor întâilor născuţi ai israeliţilor, iar turmele leviţilor în locul turmelor acestora. Leviţii vor fi ai Mei. Eu sunt Domnul.

“ Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the cattle of the Levites. And the Levites shall be Mine; I am the Lord.

46 C a preţ de răscumpărare pentru cei două sute şaptezeci şi trei dintre întâii născuţi ai israeliţilor, care trec peste numărul leviţilor,

For the ransom of the 273 of the firstborn of the sons of Israel who are in excess beyond the Levites,

47 s ă iei cinci şecheli pentru fiecare în parte, după şechelul Lăcaşului (un şechel este douăzeci de ghere).

you shall take five shekels apiece, per head; you shall take them in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary ( the shekel is twenty gerahs),

48 S ă dai argintul acesta, cu care sunt răscumpăraţi cei ce trec peste numărul leviţilor, lui Aaron şi fiilor săi.“

and give the money, the ransom of those who are in excess among them, to Aaron and to his sons.”

49 M oise a luat argintul pentru răscumpărare de la cei care erau peste numărul celor răscumpăraţi de leviţi;

So Moses took the ransom money from those who were in excess, beyond those ransomed by the Levites;

50 a luat argintul de la întâii născuţi ai israeliţilor: o mie trei sute şaizeci şi cinci de şecheli, după şechelul Lăcaşului.

from the firstborn of the sons of Israel he took the money in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary, 1, 365.

51 M oise a dat argintul pentru răscumpărare lui Aaron şi fiilor săi, după Cuvântul Domnului, aşa cum Domnul i-a poruncit lui Moise.

Then Moses gave the ransom money to Aaron and to his sons, at the command of the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
