1 L ăudaţi-L pe Domnul! Cât de bine este să-I cântăm Dumnezeului nostru; cât de plăcută şi de potrivită este lauda!

Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant and praise is becoming.

2 D omnul zideşte Ierusalimul şi-i strânge pe deportaţii lui Israel.

The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel.

3 E l îi vindecă pe cei cu inima zdrobită şi le leagă rănile.

He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

4 E l socoteşte numărul stelelor şi le cheamă pe nume pe toate.

He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them.

5 D omnul nostru este mare şi plin de putere; înţelepciunea Sa nu are margini!

Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.

6 D omnul îi ridică pe cei smeriţi, dar pe cei răi îi apleacă până la pământ.

The Lord supports the afflicted; He brings down the wicked to the ground.

7 Î nchinaţi-vă Domnului cu mulţumire, cântaţi-I Dumnezeului nostru din liră!

Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises to our God on the lyre,

8 E l acoperă cerul cu nori, pregăteşte ploaia pentru pământ şi face să răsară iarba pe munţi.

Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who provides rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.

9 E l le dă hrană vitelor şi hrăneşte puii de corb când aceştia strigă.

He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens which cry.

10 N u în puterea calului Îşi găseşte El plăcerea; nu de puterea omului se bucură;

He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He does not take pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 c i Domnul Îşi găseşte plăcerea în cei ce se tem de El, în cei ce nădăjduiesc în îndurarea Lui.

The Lord favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness.

12 L audă-L pe Domnul, Ierusalime, laudă-L pe Dumnezeul tău, Sioane!

Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

13 C ăci El întăreşte zăvoarele porţilor tale şi îţi binecuvântează fiii în mijlocul tău.

For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your sons within you.

14 E l dă pace hotarelor tale şi te satură cu cel mai ales grâu.

He makes peace in your borders; He satisfies you with the finest of the wheat.

15 E l trimite pe pământ porunca Sa; Cuvântul Lui aleargă cu iuţeală.

He sends forth His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.

16 E l dă neaua ca lâna şi presară bruma ca cenuşa.

He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes.

17 E l azvârle gheaţa în bucăţi, – cine poate sta înaintea frigului Său? –

He casts forth His ice as fragments; Who can stand before His cold?

18 d ă poruncă şi aceasta se topeşte, Îşi pune vântul să sufle şi apele curg!

He sends forth His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.

19 A făcut cunoscut Cuvântul Său lui Iacov şi a descoperit hotărârile şi judecăţile Sale lui Israel!

He declares His words to Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances to Israel.

20 T otuşi, El n-a făcut aşa cu nici un alt neam şi ele nu cunosc judecăţile Lui. Lăudaţi-L pe Domnul!

He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Praise the Lord!
