Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

2 c ătre sfinţii care sunt în Colose, fraţi credincioşi în Cristos: har şi pace de la Dumnezeu, Tatăl nostru! Mulţumirea şi rugăciunea lui Pavel pentru biserică

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

3 Î i mulţumim întotdeauna lui Dumnezeu, Tatăl Domnului nostru Isus Cristos, când ne rugăm pentru voi,

We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

4 f iindcă am auzit despre credinţa voastră în Cristos Isus şi despre dragostea pe care o aveţi pentru toţi sfinţii,

since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints;

5 d atorită nădejdii care există pentru voi în ceruri, nădejde despre care voi aţi auzit mai înainte, prin Cuvântul adevărului – Evanghelia,

because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel

6 c are a ajuns până la voi. Ea creşte în toată lumea şi aduce roade; la fel se întâmplă şi între voi din ziua în care aţi auzit şi aţi cunoscut cu adevărat harul lui Dumnezeu,

which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth;

7 a şa cum aţi învăţat de la Epafras, preaiubitul nostru slujitor împreună cu noi şi slujitor credincios al lui Cristos pentru noi.

just as you learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf,

8 E l ne-a făcut cunoscută dragostea voastră în Duhul.

and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.

9 D e aceea şi noi, din ziua în care am auzit, nu încetăm să ne rugăm pentru voi şi să cerem să fiţi umpluţi de cunoaşterea voii Lui, cu toată înţelepciunea şi priceperea duhovnicească,

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

10 p entru a trăi într-un mod vrednic de Domnul, ca să-I fiţi plăcuţi în toate, rodind tot felul de fapte bune şi crescând în cunoaşterea lui Dumnezeu,

so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 f iind întăriţi cu toată puterea, potrivit cu tăria Lui slăvită, ca să fiţi pregătiţi să înduraţi totul cu răbdare,

strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously

12 m ulţumindu-I cu bucurie Tatălui, Care ne-a îndreptăţit să avem parte de moştenirea sfinţilor în Împărăţia luminii.

giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. The Incomparable Christ

13 E l ne-a scăpat de sub autoritatea întunericului şi ne-a adus în Împărăţia Fiului Său iubit,

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

14 î n Care avem răscumpărarea, iertarea păcatelor. Supremaţia lui Cristos

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

15 E l este chipul Dumnezeului nevăzut, întâiul născut peste întreaga creaţie,

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

16 p entru că prin El au fost create toate lucrurile, în cer şi pe pământ, cele vizibile şi cele invizibile, fie tronuri, fie domnii, fie conducători, fie autorităţi. Toate au fost create prin El şi pentru El.

For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities— all things have been created through Him and for Him.

17 E l este înainte de toate lucrurile şi în El se ţin toate împreună.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

18 E l este capul trupului, al Bisericii. El este începutul, întâiul născut dintre cei morţi, pentru ca El să aibă primul loc în toate lucrurile.

He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

19 C ăci Dumnezeu a vrut ca toată plinătatea Sa să locuiască în El.

For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

20 P rin El, Dumnezeu a împăcat toate lucrurile cu Sine, fie cele de pe pământ, fie cele din cer, făcând pace prin sângele crucii Lui.

and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

21 O dată, voi eraţi străini şi duşmani în gândurile voastre, aşa cum arătau faptele voastre rele,

And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,

22 î nsă acum El v-a împăcat în trupul de carne al lui Cristos, prin moarte, pentru a vă înfăţişa sfinţi, curaţi şi fără păcat înaintea Lui,

yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—

23 d acă rămâneţi cu adevărat bine întemeiaţi şi fermi în credinţă, fără să vă abateţi de la nădejdea Evangheliei pe care aţi auzit-o, care a fost vestită tuturor oamenilor de pe pământ şi al cărei slujitor am devenit eu, Pavel. Slujba lui Pavel pentru Biserică

if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

24 A cum mă bucur în suferinţe pentru voi şi împlinesc în trupul meu ceea ce lipseşte suferinţelor lui Cristos pentru trupul Său, care este Biserica.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions.

25 A m devenit slujitorul ei, prin responsabilitatea pe care Dumnezeu mi-a dat-o mie pentru voi, aceea de a face pe deplin cunoscut Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu,

Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God,

26 t aina care a fost ascunsă de veacuri şi de generaţii, dar care acum a fost descoperită sfinţilor Lui,

that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints,

27 c ărora Dumnezeu a vrut să le facă cunoscute, între neamuri, bogăţiile glorioase ale acestei taine, şi anume: Cristos în voi, nădejdea gloriei.

to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

28 E l este Cel pe Care noi Îl vestim sfătuind şi învăţând pe orice om, cu toată înţelepciunea, pentru a putea înfăţişa pe orice om desăvârşit în Cristos.

We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

29 P entru aceasta mă ostenesc, luptându-mă prin puterea Lui, care lucrează cu tărie în mine.

For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.
