1 Y HABLARON María y Aarón contra Moisés á causa de la mujer Ethiope que había tomado: porque él había tomado mujer Ethiope.

Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite woman.

2 Y dijeron: ¿Solamente por Moisés ha hablado Jehová? ¿no ha hablado también por nosotros? Y oyólo Jehová.

They said, “Is it true that the Lord has spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also?” And the Lord heard it.

3 Y aquel varón Moisés era muy manso, más que todos los hombres que había sobre la tierra,

Now Moses was a man with no pride, more so than any man on the earth.

4 Y luego dijo Jehová á Moisés, y á Aarón, y á María: Salid vosotros tres al tabernáculo del testimonio. Y salieron ellos tres.

At once the Lord said to Moses and Aaron and Miriam, “You three come out to the meeting tent.” So the three of them came out.

5 E ntonces Jehová descendió en la columna de la nube, y púsose á la la puerta del tabernáculo, y llamó á Aarón y á María; y salieron ellos ambos.

Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood at the door of the meeting tent, and called Aaron and Miriam. When both of them had come near,

6 Y él les dijo: Oid ahora mis palabras: si tuviereis profeta de Jehová, le apareceré en visión, en sueños hablaré con él.

the Lord said, “Now listen to Me. If there is a man who speaks for God among you, I the Lord will make Myself known to him in a special dream. I will speak with him in a dream.

7 N o así á mi siervo Moisés, que es fiel en toda mi casa:

Not so, with My servant Moses. He is faithful in all My house.

8 B oca á boca hablaré con él, y á las claras, y no por figuras; y verá la apariencia de Jehová: ¿por qué pues no tuvisteis temor de hablar contra mi siervo Moisés?

With him I speak face to face in ways he understands, and not in ways he does not understand. And he sees what the Lord is like. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?”

9 E ntonces el furor de Jehová se encendió en ellos; y fuése.

The Lord was angry with them, and He left.

10 Y la nube se apartó del tabernáculo: y he aquí que María era leprosa como la nieve; y miró Aarón á María, y he aquí que estaba leprosa.

When the cloud lifted from over the meeting tent, Miriam had a very bad skin disease. She was as white as snow. Aaron turned toward Miriam and saw that she had a bad skin disease.

11 Y dijo Aarón á Moisés: ­Ah! señor mío, no pongas ahora sobre nosotros pecado; porque locamente lo hemos hecho, y hemos pecado.

Then Aaron said to Moses, “O, my lord, I beg you. Do not punish us because we have been foolish and have sinned.

12 N o sea ella ahora como el que sale muerto del vientre de su madre, consumida la mitad de su carne.

Let her not be like one who is dead, whose flesh is half eaten away when he is born!”‘

13 E ntonces Moisés clamó á Jehová, diciendo: Ruégote, oh Dios, que la sanes ahora.

And Moses cried to the Lord, saying, “O God, heal her, I pray!”

14 R espondió Jehová á Moisés: Pues si su padre hubiera escupido en su cara, ¿no se avergonzaría por siete días?: sea echada fuera del real por siete días, y después se reunirá.

But the Lord said to Moses, “If her father had only spit in her face, would she not carry her shame for seven days? Let her be shut up for seven days away from the tents. After that, she may be brought in again.”

15 A sí María fué echada del real siete días; y el pueblo no pasó adelante hasta que se le reunió María.

So Miriam was shut up away from the tents for seven days. And the people did not travel on until Miriam was brought in again.

16 Y DESPUÉS movió el pueblo de Haseroth, y asentaron el campo en el desierto de Parán.

The people moved from Hazeroth after that. And they set up their tents in the desert of Paran.
