1 I l Signore regna; egli si è rivestito di maestà; il Signore si è rivestito, si è cinto di forza; il mondo quindi è stabile, e non sarà scosso.

Jehovah reigneth; he is clothed with majesty; Jehovah is clothed with strength; he hath girded himself therewith: The world also is established, that it cannot be moved.

2 I l tuo trono è saldo dai tempi antichi, tu esisti dall’eternità.

Thy throne is established of old: Thou art from everlasting.

3 I fiumi hanno alzato, o Signore, i fiumi hanno alzato la loro voce; i fiumi elevano il loro fragore.

The floods have lifted up, O Jehovah, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves.

4 P iù delle voci delle grandi, delle potenti acque, più dei flutti del mare, il Signore è potente nei luoghi altissimi.

Above the voices of many waters, The mighty breakers of the sea, Jehovah on high is mighty.

5 I tuoi statuti sono perfettamente stabili; la santità si addice alla tua casa, o Signore, per sempre.

Thy testimonies are very sure: Holiness becometh thy house, O Jehovah, for evermore.
