1 P arola del Signore, rivolta a Michea, il Morastita, al tempo di Iotam, di Acaz e di Ezechia, re di Giuda. Visione che egli ebbe riguardo a Samaria e a Gerusalemme.

The word of Jehovah that came to Micah the Morashtite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

2 A scoltate, o popoli tutti! Presta attenzione, o terra, con tutto quello che è in te! Il Signore, Dio, sia testimone contro di voi, il Signore dal suo tempio santo.

Hear, ye peoples, all of you: hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord Jehovah be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

3 I nfatti, ecco, il Signore esce dal suo luogo, scende, cammina sulle alture della terra.

For, behold, Jehovah cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.

4 I monti si sciolgono sotto di lui e le valli si liquefanno come cera davanti al fuoco, come acqua che cola sopra un pendìo.

And the mountains shall be melted under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, as waters that are poured down a steep place.

5 T utto questo a causa della trasgressione di Giacobbe e dei peccati della casa d’Israele. Qual è la trasgressione di Giacobbe? Non è forse Samaria? Quali sono gli alti luoghi di Giuda? Non sono forse Gerusalemme?

For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?

6 « Perciò io farò di Samaria un mucchio di pietre nella campagna, un luogo da piantarci le vigne; ne farò rotolare le pietre giù nella valle, ne metterò allo scoperto le fondamenta.

Therefore I will make Samaria as a heap of the field, and as places for planting vineyards; and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will uncover the foundations thereof.

7 T utte le sue immagini scolpite saranno infrante, tutte le sue offerte agli idoli saranno arse con il fuoco, io ridurrò tutti i suoi idoli in desolazione, perché sono offerte raccolte come salario di prostituzione e torneranno a essere salario di prostituzione».

And all her graven images shall be beaten to pieces, and all her hires shall be burned with fire, and all her idols will I lay desolate; for of the hire of a harlot hath she gathered them, and unto the hire of a harlot shall they return.

8 P er questo io piangerò e griderò, andrò scalzo e nudo; alzerò lamenti come lo sciacallo, grida lugubri come lo struzzo.

For this will I lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackals, and a lamentation like the ostriches.

9 L a sua piaga infatti è incurabile; si estende fino a Giuda e giunge fino alla porta del mio popolo, fino a Gerusalemme.

For her wounds are incurable; for it is come even unto Judah; it reacheth unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

10 N on l’annunciate a Gat! Non piangete ad Acco! A Bet-Leafra io mi rotolo nella polvere.

Tell it not in Gath, weep not at all: at Beth-le-aphrah have I rolled myself in the dust.

11 P arti, vattene, o abitante di Safir, nuda e piena di vergogna! Non esce più l’abitante di Saanan; il lutto di Bet-Aesel vi priva della sua protezione.

Pass away, O inhabitant of Shaphir, in nakedness and shame: the inhabitant of Zaanan is not come forth; the wailing of Beth-ezel shall take from you the stay thereof.

12 L ’abitante di Marot trema per la sua salvezza, perché una sciagura è scesa da parte del Signore fino alla porta di Gerusalemme.

For the inhabitant of Maroth waiteth anxiously for good, because evil is come down from Jehovah unto the gate of Jerusalem.

13 A ttacca i cavalli al carro, o abitante di Lachis! Tu sei stata causa di peccato per la figlia di Sion, poiché in te si sono trovate le trasgressioni d’Israele.

Bind the chariot to the swift steed, O inhabitant of Lachish: she was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion; for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.

14 P erciò tu darai un regalo d’addio a Moreset-Gat; le case di Aczib saranno una delusione per i re d’Israele.

Therefore shalt thou give a parting gift to Moresheth-gath: the houses of Achzib shall be a deceitful thing unto the kings of Israel.

15 I o farò venire il tuo nuovo padrone, o abitante di Maresa; fino ad Adullam arriverà la gloria d’Israele!

I will yet bring unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah, him that shall possess thee: the glory of Israel shall come even unto Adullam.

16 T àgliati i capelli, raditi il capo, a causa dei figli, tue delizie! Fatti calva come l’avvoltoio, perché essi vanno in esilio, lontani da te!

Make thee bald, and cut off thy hair for the children of thy delight: enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.
