Isaiah 64 ~ Isaiah 64

1 I f only You would tear open the heavens and come down! The mountains would shake before You,

Aue me i haehae koe i nga rangi, me i heke iho, me i rere a wai nga maunga i tou aroaro!

2 a s when fire burns the wood and causes the water to boil. Come and make Your name known to those who are against you, that the nations may shake in fear before You!

Kia rite ki te ngiha o te ahi tahu rara, ki te ahi e koropupu ai nga wai; kia mohiotia ai tou ingoa e ou hoariri, kia wiri ai nga iwi i tou aroaro!

3 W hen You did powerful things which we did not expect, You came down, and the mountains shook before You.

I tau meatanga i nga mea wehi kihai nei i whakaaroa e matou, i heke iho koe, rere a wai ana nga maunga i tou aroaro.

4 F rom long ago no ear has heard and no eye has seen any God besides You, Who works for those who wait for Him.

Kahore hoki kia rangona noatia i mua, kihai i mohiotia e te taringa, kihai hoki te kanohi i kite i te Atua, ko koe anake, e mahi nei i nga mea mo te tangata e tatari ana ki a ia.

5 Y ou meet him who finds joy in doing what is right and good, who remembers You in Your ways. See, You were angry because we sinned. We have been sinning for a long time, and will we be saved?

Ko tau, he whakatau ki te tangata e koa ana, e mahi ana i te tika, ki te hunga e mahara ana ki a koe i au ara. Nana, i riri na koe, he hara hoki no matou; kua roa noa atu matou ki aua ara, a ka ora ranei matou?

6 A ll of us have become like one who is unclean. All our right and good works are like dirty pieces of cloth. And all of us dry up like a leaf. Our sins take us away like the wind.

Ko matou katoa hoki kua rite ki te tangata poke, a ko o matou tika ki te kakahu kua paru: e memenge ana matou katoa ano he rau rakau; kei te hau te rite o o matou kino e kahaki nei i a matou.

7 T here is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us, and have given us over to the power of our sins.

Kahore hoki he tangata e karanga ana ki tou ingoa, e whakaoho ana i a ia ki te hopu i a koe: kua huna nei hoki e koe tou mata ki a matou, a kua huna matou e koe na o matou he.

8 B ut now, O Lord, You are our Father. We are the clay, and You are our pot maker. All of us are the work of Your hand.

Na inaianei, e Ihowa, ko koe to matou papa; ko matou te paru, ko koe to matou kaipokepoke; he mahi hoki matou katoa na tou ringa.

9 D o not be so angry, O Lord. Do not remember our sin forever. Look now, all of us are Your people.

Kaua, e Ihowa, e whakanuia rawatia te riri, kaua hoki e mahara tonu ki te kino. Nana, titiro mai ra, he iwi matou katoa nau.

10 Y our holy cities have become a waste place. Zion has become a waste place. Jerusalem lies destroyed.

He koraha kau ou pa tapu, he koraha a Hiona, kua ururuatia a Hiruharama.

11 O ur holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised You, has been burned by fire. And all our things of great worth have been destroyed.

Ko to matou whare tapu, ko to matou whare ataahua, ko te wahi i whakamoemiti ai o matou matua ki a koe, kua waiho hei kanga ma te ahi, moti iho a matou mea matenui katoa.

12 W ill You do nothing after seeing these things, O Lord? Will You keep quiet and make us suffer even more?

Ka whakamanawanui ranei koe, e Ihowa, ki enei mea? ka whakarongo puku ranei koe? ka nui rawa ranei tau whakatupukino i a matou?
