1 W hen all the nation had crossed the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua,

А когато целият народ съвсем беше преминал Иордан, Господ говори на Исуса, казвайки:

2 “ Choose twelve men from the people, one man from each family.

Вземете си дванадесет човека от людете, по един човек от всяко племе,

3 T ell them, ‘Take twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan. Take them from the place where the religious leaders’ feet are standing. Carry them over with you, and lay them down in the place where you stay tonight.’”

и заповядайте им като кажете: Вземете си дванадесет камъни от тук, от сред Иордан, от мястото гдето нозете на свещениците стояха твърди, и занесете ги със себе си и турете ги на мястото, гдето ще пренощувате тая нощ.

4 S o Joshua called the twelve men he had chosen from the sons of Israel, one man from each family.

Тогава Исус повика дванадесетте човека, които беше определил от израилтяните, по един човек от всяко племе;

5 A nd Joshua said to them, “Go into the middle of the Jordan in front of the special box of the agreement of the Lord your God. Each of you take a stone on his shoulder, one for each of the twelve family groups of Israel.

и Исус им каза: Заминете пред ковчега на Господа вашия Бог всред Иордан, и дигнете всеки от вас по един камък на рамената си, според числото на племената на израилтяните,

6 L et this be something special among you. Your children will ask you later, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’

за да бъде това белег между вас. И утре, когато чадата ви попитат, казвайки: Защо ви са тия камъни?

7 T hen you will tell them that the water of the Jordan was cut off before the special box of the agreement of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan was cut off. So these stones will become something to remember to the people of Israel forever.”

- Тогава ще им кажете: Понеже водата на Иордан се раздели пред ковчега на Господния завет; когато <ковчегът> преминаваше Иордан, водата на Иордан се раздели. И тия камъни ще бъдат за спомен до века на израилтяните.

8 T he sons of Israel did as Joshua told them. They took up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, just as the Lord told Joshua. There was one stone for each family group of the sons of Israel. They carried them over with them to the place where they stayed, and put them down there.

Тогава израилтяните сториха така както заповяда Исус; взеха дванадесет камъни отсред Иордан, според както рече Господ на Исуса, според числото на племената на израилтяните; и донесоха ги със себе си на мястото гдето пренощуваха, и там ги положиха.

9 T hen Joshua set up twelve stones at the place where the feet of the religious leaders who carried the special box of the agreement were standing in the middle of the Jordan. They are there to this day.

Още Исус постави дванадесет камъни сред Иордан, на мястото гдето стояха нозете на свещениците, които носеха ковчега на завета; и те са там до днес.

10 T he religious leaders who carried the special box of the agreement stood in the middle of the Jordan. They stood there until everything was finished that the Lord told Joshua to tell the people, all that Moses had told Joshua. The people crossed in a hurry.

А свещениците, които носеха ковчега, стояха всред Иордан догде се свърши всичко що Господ заповяда на Исуса да говори на людете, според всичко, което Моисей беше заповядал на Исуса. И людете побързаха та преминаха.

11 W hen all the people were over, they watched the religious leaders carry the special box of the agreement to the other side.

А когато всичките люде бяха съвсем преминали, мина и Господният ковчег и свещениците пред людете.

12 T he sons of Reuben and Gad and the half-family group of Manasseh crossed over ready for battle before the people of Israel, just as Moses had told them.

И рувимците, гадците и половината от Манасиевото племе преминаха въоръжени пред израилтяните, според както Моисей им бе казал;

13 A bout 40, 000 soldiers ready for battle crossed before the Lord to the desert plains of Jericho.

около четиридесет хиляди въоръжени ратници преминаха пред Господа на бой към ерихонските полета.

14 O n that day the Lord gave Joshua honor in the eyes of all Israel. So they honored him as a great man just as they had honored Moses all the days of his life.

В оня ден Господ възвеличи Исуса пред очите на целия Израил; и те се бояха от него, както се бояха от Моисея, през всичките дни на живота му.

15 T he Lord said to Joshua,

Тогава Господ говори на Исуса, казвайки:

16 “ Tell the religious leaders who carry the special box of the agreement to come up from the Jordan.”

Заповядай на свещениците, които носят ковчега на свидетелството, да излязат от Иордан.

17 S o Joshua told the religious leaders to come up from the Jordan.

И тъй, Исус заповяда на свещениците, като рече: Излезте от Иордан.

18 T he religious leaders who carried the special box of the agreement of the Lord came up from the middle of the Jordan. When their feet stepped on dry ground, the water of the Jordan returned to its place. It flowed over its sides as before.

А щом свещениците, които носеха ковчега на Господния завет, излязоха изсред Иордан, и стъпалата на свещеническите нозе стъпиха на сухо, водата на Иордан се върна на мястото си и преля всичките му брегове както по-напред.

19 T he people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month. Then they stayed at Gilgal on the east side of Jericho.

На десетия ден от първия месец людете излязоха от Иордан, и разположиха стан в Галгал, на източната страна от Ерихон.

20 J oshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken from the Jordan.

И Исус постави в Галгал ония дванадесет камъни, които взеха от Иордан.

21 H e said to the people of Israel, “Your children will ask their fathers some time in the future, ‘What do these stones mean?’

Тогава говори на израилтяните, казвайки: Утре, когато чадата ви попитат бащите си, думайки: Какви са тия камъни?

22 T hen let your children know that Israel crossed this Jordan on dry ground.

( Тогава да разправите на чадата си, като речете: По сухо премина Израил тоя Иордан;

23 F or the Lord your God dried up the water of the Jordan before you until you had crossed. It was just as the Lord your God had done to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed.

защото Господ вашият Бог пресуши Иорданската вода пред вас догде преминахте, както Господ вашият Бог стори на Червеното море, което пресуши пред нас догде преминахме,

24 N ow all the people of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is powerful, so that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”

за да знаят всички племена на света, че Господната ръка е мощна, та да се боят винаги от Господа вашия Бог.
