1 T he Mighty One, God, Jehovah, hath spoken, And called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

(Un psalm al lui Asaf.) Dumnezeu, da, Dumnezeu, Domnul, vorbeşte, şi cheamă pămîntul, dela răsăritul soarelui pînă la asfinţitul lui.

2 O ut of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.

Din Sion, care este întruparea frumuseţei desăvîrşite, de acolo străluceşte Dumnezeu.

3 O ur God cometh, and doth not keep silence: A fire devoureth before him, And it is very tempestuous round about him.

Dumnezeul nostru vine şi nu tace. Înaintea Lui merge un foc mistuitor, şi împrejurul Lui o furtună puternică.

4 H e calleth to the heavens above, And to the earth, that he may judge his people:

El strigă spre ceruri sus, şi spre pămînt, ca să judece pe poporul Său:

5 G ather my saints together unto me, Those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

Strîngeţi-Mi pe credincioşii Mei, care au făcut legămînt cu Mine prin jertfă!`` -

6 A nd the heavens shall declare his righteousness; For God is judge himself. Selah

Atunci cerurile vor vesti dreptatea Lui, căci Dumnezeu este cel ce judecă. -

7 H ear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, even thy God.

Ascultă, poporul Meu, şi voi vorbi; ascultă, Israele, şi te voi înştiinţa. Eu sînt Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul tău.

8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices; And thy burnt-offerings are continually before me.

Nu pentru jertfele tale te mustru: căci arderile tale de tot sînt necurmat înaintea Mea.

9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, Nor he-goats out of thy folds.

Nu voi lua tauri din casa ta, nici ţapi din staulele tale.

10 F or every beast of the forest is mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills.

Căci ale Mele sînt toate dobitoacele pădurilor, toate fiarele munţilor cu miile lor.

11 I know all the birds of the mountains; And the wild beasts of the field are mine.

Eu cunosc toate păsările de pe munţi, şi tot ce se mişcă pe cîmp este al Meu.

12 I f I were hungry, I would not tell thee; For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Dacă Mi-ar fi foame, nu ţi-aş spune ţie, căci a mea este lumea şi tot ce cuprinde ea.

13 W ill I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?

Oare mănînc Eu carnea taurilor? Oare beau Eu sîngele ţapilor?

14 O ffer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy vows unto the Most High:

Adu ca jertfă lui Dumnezeu mulţămiri, şi împlineşte-ţi juruinţele făcute Celui Prea Înalt.

15 A nd call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Cheamă-Mă în ziua necazului, şi Eu te voi izbăvi, iar tu Mă vei proslăvi!

16 B ut unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,

Dumnezeu zice însă celui rău:,, Ce tot înşiri tu legile Mele, şi ai în gură legămîntul Meu,

17 S eeing thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee?

cînd tu urăşti mustrările, şi arunci cuvintele Mele înapoia ta?

18 W hen thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers.

Dacă vezi un hoţ, te uneşti cu el, şi te însoţeşti cu preacurvarii.

19 T hou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.

Dai drumul gurii la rău, şi limba ta urzeşte vicleşuguri.

20 T hou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

Stai şi vorbeşti împotriva fratelui tău, cleveteşti pe fiul mamei tale.

21 T hese things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: But I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

Iată ce ai făcut, şi Eu am tăcut. Ţi-ai închipuit că Eu sînt ca tine. Dar te voi mustra, şi îţi voi pune totul supt ochi!

22 N ow consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:

Luaţi seama dar, voi cari uitaţi pe Dumnezeu, ca nu cumva să vă sfăşii, şi să nu fie nimeni să vă scape.

23 W hoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; And to him that ordereth his way aright Will I show the salvation of God.

Cine aduce mulţămiri, ca jertfă, acela Mă proslăveşte, şi celui ce veghează asupra căii lui, aceluia îi voi arăta mîntuirea lui Dumnezeu.
