1 I n Judah God is known and renowned; His name is highly praised and is great in Israel.

2 I n Salem also is His tabernacle, and His dwelling place is in Zion.

Cortul Lui este în Salem, şi locuinţa Lui în Sion;

3 T here He broke the bow’s flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah!

acolo a sfărîmat El săgeţile, scutul, sabia, şi armele de război. -

4 G lorious and excellent are You from the mountains of prey.

Tu eşti mai măreţ, mai puternic decît munţii răpitorilor.

5 T he stouthearted are stripped of their spoil, they have slept the sleep; and none of the men of might could raise their hands.

Despoiaţi au fost vitejii aceia plini de inimă, au adormit somnul de apoi; n'au putut să se apere, toţi acei oameni viteji.

6 A t Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

La mustrarea Ta, Dumnezeul lui Iacov, au adormit şi călăreţi şi cai.

7 Y ou, even You, are to be feared! Who may stand in Your presence when once Your anger is roused?

Cît de înfricoşat eşti Tu! Cine poate să-Ţi stea împotrivă, cînd Îţi izbucneşte mînia?

8 Y ou caused sentence to be heard from heaven; the earth feared and was still—

Ai rostit hotărîrea dela înalţimea cerurilor; pămîntul s'a îngrozit şi a tăcut,

9 W hen God arose to judgment, to save all the meek and oppressed of the earth. Selah!

cînd S'a ridicat Dumnezeu să facă dreptate, şi să scape pe toţi nenorociţii de pe pămînt. -

10 S urely the wrath of man shall praise You; the remainder of wrath shall You restrain and gird and arm Yourself with it.

Omul Te laudă chiar şi în mînia lui, cînd Te îmbraci cu toată urgia Ta.

11 V ow and pay to the Lord your God; let all who are round about Him bring presents to Him Who ought to be feared.

Faceţi juruinţe Domnului, Dumnezeului vostru, şi împliniţi-le! Toţi ceice -L înconjoară, să aducă daruri Dumnezeului celui înfricoşat.

12 H e will cut off the spirit of princes; He is terrible to the kings of the earth.

El frînge mîndria domnitorilor, El este înfricoşat pentru împăraţii pămîntului.
