1 W oe to her that is rebellious and polluted, the oppressing city!

Vai de cetatea îndărătnică şi spurcată, vai de cetatea plină de asuprire!

2 S he did not listen to and heed the voice; she accepted no correction or instruction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God.

Ea n'ascultă de nici un glas, nu ţine seama de mustrare, nu se încrede în Domnul, nu se apropie de Dumnezeul său.

3 H er officials in the midst of her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones on the morrow, for nothing is left by morning.

Căpeteniile ei în mijlocul ei sînt nişte lei cari răcnesc; judecătorii ei sînt nişte lupi de seară cari nu mai lasă nici un os pînă dimineaţa.

4 H er prophets are light and men of treachery; her priests have profaned the sanctuary; they have done violence to the law.

Proorocii ei sînt uşuratici şi înşelători; preoţii ei pîngăresc lucrurile sfinte, calcă Legea.

5 T he Lord in the midst of her is righteous; He will not do iniquity. Every morning He brings His justice to light; He fails not, but the unjust knows no shame.

Domnul este fără prihană în mijlocul ei. El nu face nici o nelegiuire; în fiecare dimineaţă El Îşi scoate la lumină judecăţile, fără să înceteze vreodată; dar cine este nelegiuit nu ştie de ruşine!

6 I have cut off nations; their battlements and corner towers are desolate and in ruins. I laid their streets waste so that none passes over them; their cities are destroyed so that there is no man, there is no inhabitant.

Am nimicit neamuri, le-am dărîmat turnurile, le-am pustiit uliţele şi nu mai trece nimeni pe ele! Cetăţile lor sînt pustiite, nu mai au nici un om în ele, şi nimeni nu mai locuieşte în ele!

7 I said, Only let her fear Me, receive correction and instruction, and dwelling shall not be cut off. However, I have punished her, but all the more they are eager to make all their doings corrupt and infamous.

Ziceam:, Dacă ai voi măcar să te temi de Mine, şi să ţii seama de mustrare! Nu ţi-ar fi nimicită locuinţa, şi n'ar veni peste tine toate pedepsele cu cari te-am ameninţat.` Dar ei s'au grăbit să-şi strice toate faptele.

8 T herefore wait for Me, says the Lord, for the day when I rise up to the attack. For My decision and determination and right it is to gather the nations together, to assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them My indignation, even all My fierce anger; for all the earth shall be consumed with the fire of My zeal and jealousy.

De aceea aşteptaţi numai, zice Domnul, pînă în ziua cînd Mă voi scula la pradă: căci am hotărît să strîng neamurile, să adun împărăţiile, ca să-Mi vărs urgia peste ele, toată aprinderea mîniei Mele; căci toată ţara va fi mistuită de focul geloziei Mele.``

9 F or then I will give to the people a clear and pure speech from pure lips, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve Him with one unanimous consent and one united shoulder.

Atunci voi da popoarelor buze curate, ca toţi să cheme Numele Domnului, ca să -I slujească într'un gînd.

10 F rom beyond the rivers of Cush or Ethiopia those who pray to Me, the daughter of My dispersed people, will bring and present My offering.

Dincolo de rîurile Etiopiei, Îmi vor aduce daruri de mîncare închinătorii mei, obştea Mea cea risipită.

11 I n that day you shall not be put to shame for all your deeds by which you have rebelled and transgressed against Me, for then I will take away out of your midst those who exult in your majesty and pride; and you shall no more be haughty because of My holy mountain.

În ziua aceea, nu vei mai avea nevoie să roşeşti de toate faptele tale prin cari ai păcătuit împotriva Mea; căci atunci voi scoate din mijlocul tău pe cei trufaşi, şi nu te vei mai îngîmfa pe muntele Meu cel sfînt!

12 F or I will leave in the midst of you a people afflicted and poor, and they shall trust, seek refuge, and be confident in the name of the Lord.

Voi lăsa în mijlocul tău un popor smerit şi mic, care se va încrede în Numele Domnului.

13 W hat is left of Israel shall not do iniquity or speak lies, neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they shall feed and lie down and none shall make them afraid.

Rămăşiţele lui Israel nu vor mai săvîrşi nelegiuire, nu vor mai spune minciuni, şi nici în gura lor nu se va mai găsi o limbă înşelătoare. Ci vor paşte, şi se vor odihni, şi nimeni nu -i va tulbura.

14 S ing, O Daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice, be in high spirits and glory with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem.

Strigă de bucurie, fiica Sionului! Strigă de veselie, Israele! Bucură-te şi saltă de veselie din toată inima ta, fiica Ierusalimului!

15 t he Lord has taken away the judgments against you; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of you; you shall not experience or fear evil any more.

Domnul a abătut dela tine pedepsele tale, a îndepărtat pe vrăjmaşul tău; Domnul, Împăratul lui Israel, este în mijlocul tău; nu trebuie să te mai temi de nicio nenorocire!

16 I n that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear not, O Zion. Let not your hands sink down or be slow and listless.

În ziua aceea, se va zice Ierusalimului:,, Nu te teme de nimic! Sioane, să nu-ţi slăbească mînile!

17 T he Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest and in His love He will be silent and make no mention; He will exult over you with singing.

Domnul Dumnezeul tău este în mijlocul tău, ca un viteaz care poate ajuta; se va bucura de tine cu mare bucurie, va tăcea în dragostea Lui, şi nu va mai putea de veselie pentru tine.

18 I will gather those belonging to you who yearn and grieve for the solemn assembly, on whom the reproach of it is a burden.

Voi strînge pe cei întristaţi, cari sînt departe de adunarea sfîntă, pe cei ieşiţi din sînul tău, asupra cărora acum apasă ocara.

19 B ehold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you; I will save the limping and gather the outcasts and will make them a praise and a name in every land of their shame.

Iată, în vremea aceea, voi lucra împotriva tuturor asupritorilor tăi; voi izbăvi pe cei şchiopi şi voi strînge pe cei ce au fost izgoniţi, şi îi voi face o pricină de laudă şi de slavă în toate ţările unde sînt de ocară acum.

20 A t that time I will bring you in; yes, at that time I will gather you, for I will make you a name and a praise among all the nations of the earth when I reverse your captivity before your eyes, says the Lord.

În vremea aceea, vă voi aduce înapoi; în vremea aceea, vă voi strînge; căci vă voi face o pricină de slavă şi de laudă între toate popoarele pămîntului, cînd voi aduce înapoi pe prinşii voştri de război supt ochii voştri, zice Domnul.`
