2 W ho were chosen and foreknown by God the Father and consecrated (sanctified, made holy) by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and to be sprinkled with blood: May grace (spiritual blessing) and peace be given you in increasing abundance '> realized in and through Christ, freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts].

dupa stiinta mai dinainte a lui Dumnezeu Tatal, prin sfintirea lucrata de Duhul, spre ascultarea si stropirea cu singele lui Isus Hristos: Harul si pacea sa va fie inmultite!

3 P raised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Binecuvintat sa fie Dumnezeu, Tatal Domnului nostru Isus Hristos, care, dupa indurarea Sa cea mare, ne-a nascut din nou prin invierea lui Isus Hristos din morti, la o nadejde vie

4 i nto an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay, unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you,

si la o mostenire nestricacioasa si neintinata, si care nu se poate vesteji, pastrata in ceruri pentru voi.

5 W ho are being guarded (garrisoned) by God’s power through faith '> final] salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Voi sunteti paziti de puterea lui Dumnezeu, prin credinta, pentru mintuirea gata sa fie descoperita in vremurile de apoi.

6 b e exceedingly glad on this account, though now for a little while you may be distressed by trials and suffer temptations,

In ea voi va bucurati mult, macar ca acum, daca trebuie, sunteti intristati pentru putina vreme, prin felurite incercari,

7 S o that of your faith may be tested, which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. to redound to praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed.

pentru ca incercarea credintei voastre, cu mult mai scumpa decit aurul care piere si care totusi este incercat prin foc, sa aiba ca urmare lauda, slava si cinstea, la aratarea lui Isus Hristos,

8 W ithout having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy.

pe care voi Il iubiti fara sa-L fi vazut, credeti in El, fara sa-L vedeti, si va bucurati cu o bucurie negraita si stralucita,

9 y ou receive the result (outcome, consummation) of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

pentru ca veti dobindi, ca sfirsit al credintei voastre, mintuirea sufletelor voastre.

10 T he prophets, who prophesied of the grace (divine blessing) which was intended for you, searched and inquired earnestly about this salvation.

Proorocii, care au proorocit despre harul care va era pastrat voua, au facut din mintuirea aceasta tinta cercetarilor si cautarii lor staruitoare.

11 T hey sought to whom or when this was to come which the Spirit of Christ working within them was indicating when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that should follow.

Ei cercetau sa vada ce vreme si ce imprejurari avea in vedere Duhul lui Hristos, care era in ei, cind vestea mai dinainte patimile lui Hristos si slava de care aveau sa fie urmate.

12 I t was then disclosed to them that the services they were rendering were not meant for themselves and their period of time, but for you. things which have now already been made known plainly to you by those who preached the good news (the Gospel) to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Into these things angels long to look!

Lor le-a fost descoperit ca nu pentru ei insisi, ci pentru voi spuneau ei aceste lucruri, pe care vi le-au vestit acum cei ce v-au propovaduit Evanghelia, prin Duhul Sfint trimis din cer si in care chiar ingerii doresc sa priveasca.

13 S o brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert); set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed.

De aceea, incingeti-va coapsele mintii voastre, fiti treji, si puneti-va toata nadejdea in harul, care va va fi adus, la aratarea lui Isus Hristos.

14 a s children of obedience; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires in your former ignorance.

Ca niste copii ascultatori, nu va lasati tiriti in poftele, pe care le aveati altadata, cind erati in nestiinta.

15 B ut as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living.

Ci, dupa cum Cel ce v-a chemat este sfint, fiti si voi sfinti in toata purtarea voastra.

16 F or it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.

Caci este scris: "Fiti sfinti, caci Eu sunt sfint."

17 A nd if you call upon Him as Father Who judges each one impartially according to what he does, you should conduct yourselves with true reverence throughout the time of your temporary residence.

Si daca chemati ca Tata pe Cel ce judeca fara partinire pe fiecare dupa faptele lui, purtati-va cu frica in timpul pribegiei voastre;

18 Y ou must know (recognize) that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from forefathers, not with corruptible things silver and gold,

caci stiti ca nu cu lucruri pieritoare, cu argint sau cu aur, ati fost rascumparati din felul desert de vietuire, pe care-l mosteniserati de la parintii vostri,

19 B ut with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

ci cu singele scump al lui Hristos, Mielul fara cusur si fara prihana.

20 I t is true that He was chosen and foreordained (destined and foreknown for it) before the foundation of the world, but He was brought out to public view (made manifest) in these last days (at the end of the times) for the sake of you.

El a fost cunoscut mai inainte de intemeierea lumii, si a fost aratat la sfirsitul vremurilor pentru voi,

21 T hrough Him you believe in (adhere to, rely on) God, Who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him honor and glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

care, prin El, sunteti credinciosi in Dumnezeu, care L-a inviat din morti, si I-a dat slava, pentru ca credinta si nadejdea voastra sa fie in Dumnezeu.

22 S ince by your obedience to the Truth through the Spirit you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, love one another fervently from a pure heart.

Deci, ca unii care, prin ascultarea de adevar, v-ati curatit sufletele prin Duhul, ca sa aveti o dragoste de frati neprefacuta, iubiti-va cu caldura unii pe altii, din toata inima;

23 Y ou have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin ( seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.

fiindca ati fost nascuti din nou nu dintr-o saminta, care poate putrezi, ci dintr-una care nu poate putrezi, prin Cuvintul lui Dumnezeu, care este viu si care ramine in veac.

24 F or all flesh (mankind) is like grass, and all its glory (honor) like flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower drops off,

Caci orice faptura este ca iarba, si toata slava ei, ca floarea ierbii. Iarba se usuca si floarea cade jos,

25 B ut the Word of the Lord ( divine instruction, the Gospel) endures forever. And this Word is the good news which was preached to you.

dar Cuvintul Domnului ramine in veac. Si acesta este Cuvintul, care v-a fost propovaduit prin Evanghelie.
