1 B ut on the first day of the week, at early dawn, went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had made ready.

În ziua întîi a săptămînii, femeile acestea, şi altele împreună cu ele, au venit la mormînt dis de dimineaţă, şi au adus miresmele, pe cari le pregătiseră.

2 A nd they found the stone rolled back from the tomb,

Au găsit piatra răsturnată de pe mormînt,

3 B ut when they went inside, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

au intrat înlăuntru, şi n'au găsit trupul Domnului Isus.

4 A nd while they were perplexed and wondering what to do about this, behold, two men in dazzling raiment suddenly stood beside them.

Fiindcă nu ştiau ce să creadă, iată că li s'au arătat doi bărbaţi, îmbrăcaţi în haine strălucitoare.

5 A nd as were frightened and were bowing their faces to the ground, the men said to them, Why do you look for the living among dead?

Îngrozite, femeile şi-au plecat feţele la pămînt. Dar ei le-au zis:,, Pentruce căutaţi între cei morţi pe Cel ce este viu?

6 H e is not here, but has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee

Nu este aici, ci a înviat. Aduceţi-vă aminte ce v'a spus pe cînd era încă în Galilea,

7 T hat the Son of Man must be given over into the hands of sinful men (men whose way or nature is to act in opposition to God) and be crucified and on the third day rise '> from death].

cînd zicea că Fiul omului trebuie să fie dat în mînile păcătoşilor, să fie răstignit, şi a treia zi să învieze.``

8 A nd they remembered His words.

Şi ele şi-au adus aminte de cuvintele lui Isus.

9 A nd having returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven apostles and to all the rest.

La întoarcerea lor dela mormînt, au povestit toate aceste lucruri celor unsprezece şi tuturor celorlalţi.

10 N ow it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who reported these things to the apostles.

Cele ce au spus aceste lucruri apostolilor, erau: Maria Magdalina, Ioana, Maria, mama lui Iacov, şi celelalte, cari erau împreună cu ele.

11 B ut these reports seemed to the men an idle tale ( madness, feigned things, nonsense), and they did not believe the women.

Cuvintele acestea li se păreau apostolilor basme, şi nu le credeau.

12 B ut Peter got up and ran to the tomb; and stooping down and looking in, he saw the linen cloths alone by themselves, and he went away, wondering about and marveling at what had happened.

Dar Petru s'a sculat, şi a dat fuga la mormînt. S'a plecat, şi s'a uitat înlăuntru, dar n'a văzut decît făşiile de pînză, cari stăteau pe pămînt; apoi a plecat acasă, mirat de cele întîmplate.

13 A nd behold, that very day two of were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.

În aceeaş zi, iată, doi ucenici se duceau la un sat, numit Emaus, care era la o depărtare de şaizeci de stadii de Ierusalim;

14 A nd they were talking with each other about all these things that had occurred.

şi vorbeau între ei despre tot ce se întîmplase.

15 A nd while they were conversing and discussing together, Jesus Himself caught up with them and was already accompanying them.

Pe cînd vorbeau ei şi se întrebau, Isus S'a apropiat, şi mergea pe drum împreună cu ei.

16 B ut their eyes were held, so that they did not recognize Him.

Dar ochii lor erau împiedicaţi să -L cunoască.

17 A nd He said to them, What is this discussion that you are exchanging ( throwing back and forth) between yourselves as you walk along? And they stood still, looking sad and downcast.

El le -a zis:,, Ce vorbe sînt acestea pe cari le schimbaţi între voi pe drum?`` Şi ei s'au oprit, uitîndu-se trişti.

18 T hen one of them, named Cleopas, answered Him, Do you alone dwell as a stranger in Jerusalem and not know the things that have occurred there in these days?

Drept răspuns, unul din ei, numit Cleopa, I -a zis:,, Tu eşti singurul străin aici în Ierusalim, de nu ştii ce s'a întîmplat în el zilele acestea?`` -

19 A nd He said to them, What things? And they said to Him, About Jesus of Nazareth, Who was a Prophet mighty in work and word before God and all the people—

Ce?`` le -a zis El. -Şi ei I-au răspuns:,, Ce s'a întîmplat cu Isus din Nazaret, care era un prooroc puternic în fapte şi în cuvinte, înaintea lui Dumnezeu şi înaintea întregului norod.

20 A nd how our chief priests and rulers gave Him up to be sentenced to death, and crucified Him.

Cum preoţii cei mai de seamă şi mai marii noştri L-au dat să fie osîndit la moarte, şi L-au răstignit?``

21 B ut we were hoping that it was He Who would redeem and set Israel free. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things occurred.

Noi trăgeam nădejde că El este Acela, care va izbăvi pe Israel; dar cu toate acestea, iată că astăzi este a treia zi decînd s'au întîmplat aceste lucruri.

22 A nd moreover, some women of our company astounded us and drove us out of our senses. They were at the tomb early

Ba încă nişte femei de ale noastre ne-au pus în uimire: ele s'au dus disdedimineaţă la mormînt,

23 B ut did not find His body; and they returned saying that they had seen a vision of angels, who said that He was alive!

nu I-au găsit trupul, şi au venit şi au spus că ar fi văzut şi o vedenie de îngeri, cari ziceau că El este viu.

24 S o some of those with us went to the tomb and they found it just as the women had said, but Him they did not see.

Unii din cei ce erau cu noi, s'au dus la mormînt, şi au găsit aşa cum spuseseră femeile, dar pe El nu L-au văzut.``

25 A nd said to them, O foolish ones and slow of heart to believe (adhere to and trust in and rely on) everything that the prophets have spoken!

Atunci Isus le -a zis:,, O, nepricepuţilor şi zăbavnici cu inima, cînd este vorba să credeţi tot ce au spus proorocii!

26 W as it not necessary and essentially fitting that the Christ (the Messiah) should suffer all these things before entering into His glory (His majesty and splendor)?

Nu trebuia să sufere Hristosul aceste lucruri, şi să intre în slava Sa?``

27 T hen beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He went on explaining and interpreting to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning and referring to Himself.

Şi a început dela Moise, şi dela toţi proorocii, şi le -a tîlcuit, în toate Scripturile, ce era cu privire la El.

28 T hen they drew near the village to which they were going, and He acted as if He would go further.

Cînd s'au apropiat de satul la care mergeau, El S'a făcut că vrea să meargă mai departe.

29 B ut they urged and insisted, saying to Him, Remain with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is now far spent. So He went in to stay with them.

Dar ei au stăruit de El, şi au zis:,, Rămîi cu noi, căci este spre seară, şi ziua aproape a trecut.`` Şi a intrat să rămînă cu ei.

30 A nd it occurred that as He reclined at table with them, He took bread and praised and gave thanks and asked a blessing, and then broke it and was giving it to them

Pe cînd şedea la masă cu ei, a luat pînea; şi, după ce a rostit binecuvîntarea, a frînt -o, şi le -a dat -o.

31 W hen their eyes were opened and they recognized Him, and He vanished ( departed invisibly).

Atunci li s'au deschis ochii, şi L-au cunoscut; dar El S'a făcut nevăzut dinaintea lor.

32 A nd they said to one another, Were not our hearts greatly moved and burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and as He opened and explained to us the Scriptures?

Şi au zis unul către altul:,, Nu ne ardea inima în noi, cînd ne vorbea pe drum, şi ne deschidea Scripturile?``

33 A nd rising up that very hour, they went back to Jerusalem, where they found the Eleven gathered together and those who were with them,

S'au sculat chiar în ceasul acela, s'au întors în Ierusalim, şi au găsit pe cei unsprezece şi pe cei ce erau cu ei, adunaţi la un loc,

34 W ho said, The Lord really has risen and has appeared to Simon (Peter)!

şi zicînd:,, A înviat Domnul cu adevărat, şi S'a arătat lui Simon.``

35 T hen they related what had happened on the road, and how He was known and recognized by them in the breaking of bread.

Şi au istorisit ce li se întîmplase pe drum, şi cum L-au cunoscut la frîngerea pînii.

36 N ow while they were talking about this, Jesus Himself took His stand among them and said to them, Peace ( freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin) be to you!

Pe cînd vorbeau ei astfel, însuş Isus a stătut în mijlocul lor, şi le -a zis:,, Pace vouă!``

37 B ut they were so startled and terrified that they thought they saw a spirit.

Plini de frică şi de spaimă, ei credeau că văd un duh.

38 A nd He said to them, Why are you disturbed and troubled, and why do such doubts and questionings arise in your hearts?

Dar El le -a zis:,, Pentru ce sînteţi turburaţi? Şi dece vi se ridică astfel de gînduri în inimă?

39 S ee My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself! Feel and handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.

Uitaţi-vă la mînile şi picioarele Mele, Eu sînt; pipăiţi-Mă şi vedeţi: un duh n'are nici carne, nici oase, cum vedeţi că am Eu.``

40 A nd when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.

(Şi după ce a zis aceste vorbe, le -a arătat mînile şi picioarele Sale.)

41 A nd while they still could not believe it for sheer joy and marveled, He said to them, Have you anything here to eat?

Fiindcă ei, de bucurie, încă nu credeau, şi se mirau, El le -a zis:,, Aveţi aici ceva de mîncare?``

42 T hey gave Him a piece of broiled fish,

I-au dat o bucată de peşte fript şi un fagur de miere.

43 A nd He took and ate before them.

El le -a luat, şi a mîncat înaintea lor.

44 T hen He said to them, This is what I told you while I was still with you: everything which is written concerning Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.

Apoi le -a zis:,, Iată ce vă spuneam cînd încă eram cu voi, că trebuie să se împlinească tot ce este scris despre Mine în Legea lui Moise, în Prooroci şi în Psalmi.``

45 T hen He opened up their minds to understand the Scriptures,

Atunci le -a deschis mintea, ca să înţeleagă Scripturile.

46 A nd said to them, Thus it is written that the Christ (the Messiah) should suffer and on the third day rise from ( among) the dead,

Şi le -a zis:,, Aşa este scris, şi aşa trebuia să pătimească Hristos, şi să învieze a treia zi dintre cei morţi.

47 A nd that repentance forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Şi să se propovăduiască tuturor neamurilor, în Numele Lui, pocăinţa şi iertarea păcatelor, începînd din Ierusalim.

48 Y ou are witnesses of these things.

Voi sînteţi martori ai acestor lucruri.

49 A nd behold, I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.

Şi iată că voi trimete peste voi făgăduinţa Tatălui Meu; dar rămîneţi în cetate pînă veţi fi îmbrăcaţi cu putere de sus.``

50 T hen He conducted them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up His hands, He invoked a blessing on them.

El i -a dus afară pînă spre Betania. Şi -a ridicat mînile, şi i -a binecuvîntat.

51 A nd it occurred that while He was blessing them, He parted from them and was taken up into heaven.

Pe cînd îi binecuvînta, S'a despărţit de ei, şi a fost înălţat la cer.

52 A nd they, worshiping Him, went back to Jerusalem with great joy;

Dupăce I s'au închinat, ei s'au întors în Ierusalim cu o mare bucurie.

53 A nd they were continually in the temple celebrating with praises and blessing and extolling God. Amen (so be it).
