1 A nd the Lord said to Noah, Come with all your household into the ark, for I have seen you to be righteous (upright and in right standing) before Me in this generation.

Domnul a zis lui Noe:,, Intră în corabie, tu şi toată casa ta; căci te-am văzut fără prihană înaintea Mea în neamul acesta de oameni.

2 O f every clean beast you shall receive and take with you seven pairs, the male and his mate, and of beasts that are not clean a pair of each kind, the male and his mate,

Ia cu tine cîte şapte perechi din toate dobitoacele curate, cîte o parte bărbătească şi cîte o parte femeiască; o pereche din dobitoacele care nu sînt curate, cîte o parte bărbătească şi cîte o parte femeiască;

3 A lso of the birds of the air seven pairs, the male and the female, to keep seed alive over all the earth or land.

şi cîte şapte perechi de asemenea, din pasările cerului, cîte o parte bărbătească şi cîte o parte femeiască, pentru ca să le ţii vie sămînţa pe toată faţa pămîntului.

4 F or in seven days I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living substance and thing that I have made I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away from the face of the earth.

Căci după şapte zile, voi face să ploaie pe pămînt patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi; şi voi şterge astfel de pe faţa pămîntului toate făpturile pe cari le-am făcut.``

5 A nd Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.

Noe a făcut tot ce -i poruncise Domnul.

6 N oah was 600 years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth or land.

Noe era de şase sute de ani, cînd a venit potopul pe pămînt.

7 A nd Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.

Şi Noe a intrat în corabie cu fiii săi, cu nevastă-sa şi cu nevestele fiilor săi, din pricina apelor potopului.

8 O f clean animals and of animals that are not clean, and of birds and fowls, and of everything that creeps on the ground,

Din dobitoacele curate şi din dobitoacele necurate, din păsări şi din tot ce se tîrăşte pe pămînt,

9 T here went in two and two with Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

au intrat în corabie la Noe, două cîte două, cîte o parte bărbătească şi cîte o parte femeiască, aşa cum poruncise Dumnezeu lui Noe.

10 A nd after the seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth or land.

După cele şapte zile, au venit apele potopului pe pămînt.

11 I n the year 600 of Noah’s life, in the seventeenth day of the second month, that same day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and burst forth, and the windows and floodgates of the heavens were opened.

În anul al şasesutelea al vieţii lui Noe, în luna a doua, în ziua a şaptesprezecea a lunii, în ziua aceea, s'au rupt toate izvoarele Adîncului celui mare şi s'au deschis stăvilarele cerurilor.

12 A nd it rained upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Ploaia a căzut pe pămînt patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi.

13 O n the very same day Noah and Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the ark,

În aceeaş zi au intrat în corabie: Noe, Sem, Ham şi Iafet, fiii lui Noe, nevasta lui Noe şi cele trei neveste ale fiilor lui cu ei:

14 T hey and every beast according to its kind, all the livestock according to their kinds, every moving thing that creeps on the land according to its kind, and every fowl according to its kind, every winged thing of every sort.

ei, şi toate fiarele cîmpului, după soiul lor, toate vitele după soiul lor, toate tîrîtoarele cari se tîrăsc pe pămînt după soiul lor, toate păsările după soiul lor, toate păsărelele, tot ce are aripi.

15 A nd they went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there were the breath and spirit of life.

Au intrat în corabie la Noe, două cîte două, din orice făptură care are suflare de viaţă.

16 A nd they that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded; and the Lord shut him in and closed round about him.

Cele cari au intrat, erau cîte o parte bărbătească şi cîte o parte femeiască, din orice făptură, după cum poruncise Dumnezeu lui Noe. Apoi Domnul a închis uşa după el.

17 T he flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased and bore up the ark, and it was lifted above the land.

Potopul a fost patruzeci de zile pe pămînt. Apele au crescut şi au ridicat corabia, şi ea s'a înălţat deasupra pămîntului.

18 A nd the waters became mighty and increased greatly upon the land, and the ark went upon the surface of the waters.

Apele au ajuns mari şi au crescut foarte mult pe pămînt, şi corabia plutea pe deasupra apelor.

19 A nd the waters prevailed so exceedingly and were so mighty upon the earth that all the high hills under the whole sky were covered.

Apele au ajuns din ce în ce mai mari şi toţi munţii înalţi, cari sînt supt cerul întreg, au fost acoperiţi.

20 t he waters became fifteen cubits higher, as the high hills were covered.

Cu cincisprezece coţi s'au înălţat apele deasupra munţilor, cari au fost acoperiţi.

21 A nd all flesh ceased to breathe that moved upon the earth—fowls and birds, animals, beasts, all swarming and creeping things that swarm and creep upon the land, and all mankind.

Şi a pierit orice făptură care se mişca pe pămînt, atît păsările cît şi vitele şi fiarele, tot ce se tîra pe pămînt, şi toţi oamenii.

22 E verything on the dry land in whose nostrils were the breath and spirit of life died.

Tot ce răsufla, tot ce avea suflare de duh de viaţă în nări, tot ce era pe pămîntul uscat, a murit.

23 G od destroyed (blotted out) every living thing that was upon the face of the earth; man and animals and the creeping things and the birds of the heavens were destroyed (blotted out) from the land. Only Noah remained alive, and those who were with him in the ark.

Toate făpturile cari erau pe faţa pămîntului au fost nimicite, dela om pînă la vite, pînă lă tîrîtoare şi pînă la păsările cerului: au fost nimicite de pe pămînt. N'a rămas decît Noe şi ce era cu el în corabie.

24 A nd the waters prevailed upon the earth or land 150 days (five months).

Apele au fost mari pe pămînt o sută cincizeci de zile.
