1 A nd a great sign (wonder)— appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and with a crownlike garland (tiara) of twelve stars on her head.

În cer s'a arătat un semn mare: o femeie învăluită în soare, cu luna supt picioare, şi cu o cunună de douăsprezece stele pe cap.

2 S he was pregnant and she cried out in her birth pangs, in the anguish of her delivery.

Ea era însărcinată, ţipa în durerile naşterii, şi avea un mare chin ca să nască.

3 T hen another ominous sign (wonder) was seen in heaven: Behold, a huge, fiery-red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven kingly crowns (diadems) upon his heads.

În cer s'a mai arătat un alt semn: iată, s'a văzut un mare balaur roş, cu şapte capete, zece coarne, şi şapte cununi împărăteşti pe capete.

4 H is tail swept and dragged down a third of the stars and flung them to the earth. And the dragon stationed himself in front of the woman who was about to be delivered, so that he might devour her child as soon as she brought it forth.

Cu coada trăgea după el a treia parte din stelele cerului, şi le arunca pe pămînt. Balaurul a stătut înaintea femeii, care sta să nască, pentruca să -i mănînce copilul, cînd îl va naşte.

5 A nd she brought forth a male Child, One Who is destined to shepherd (rule) all the nations with an iron staff (scepter), and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne.

Ea a născut un fiu, un copil de parte bărbătească. El are să cîrmuiască toate neamurile cu un toiag de fer. Copilul a fost răpit la Dumnezeu şi la scaunul Lui de domnie.

6 A nd the woman fled into the desert (wilderness), where she has a retreat prepared by God, in which she is to be fed and kept safe for 1, 260 days (42 months; three and one-half years).

Şi femeia a fugit în pustie, într'un loc pregătit de Dumnezeu, ca să fie hrănită acolo o mie două sute şase zeci de zile.

7 T hen war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought.

Şi în cer s'a făcut un război. Mihail şi îngerii lui s'au luptat cu balaurul. Şi balaurul cu îngerii lui s'au luptat şi ei,

8 B ut they were defeated, and there was no room found for them in heaven any longer.

dar n'au putut birui; şi locul lor nu li s'a mai găsit în cer.

9 A nd the huge dragon was cast down and out—that age-old serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all humanity the world over; he was forced out and down to the earth, and his angels were flung out along with him.

Şi balaurul cel mare, şarpele cel vechi, numit Diavolul şi Satana, acela care înşeală întreaga lume, a fost aruncat pe pămînt; şi împreună cu el au fost aruncaţi şi îngerii lui.

10 T hen I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come—the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out!

Şi am auzit în cer un glas tare, care zicea:,, Acum a venit mîntuirea, puterea şi împărăţia Dumnezeului nostru, şi stăpînirea Hristosului Lui; pentrucă pîrîşul fraţilor noştri, care zi şi noaptea îi pîra înaintea Dumnezeului nostru, a fost aruncat jos.

11 A nd they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death.

Ei l-au biruit, prin sîngele Mielului şi prin cuvîntul mărturisirii lor, şi nu şi-au iubit viaţa chiar pînăla moarte.

12 T herefore be glad (exult), O heavens and you that dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in fierce anger (fury), because he knows that he has a short time!

De aceea bucuraţi-vă, ceruri, şi voi cari locuiţi în ceruri! Vai de voi, pămînt şi mare! Căci diavolul s'a pogorît la voi, cuprins de o mînie mare, fiindcă ştie că are puţină vreme.

13 A nd when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he went in pursuit of the woman who had given birth to the male Child.

Cînd s'a văzut balaurul aruncat pe pămînt, a început să urmărească pe femeia, care născuse copilul de parte bărbătească.

14 B ut the woman was supplied with the two wings of a giant eagle, so that she might fly from the presence of the serpent into the desert (wilderness), to the retreat where she is to be kept safe and fed for a time, and times, and half a time (three and one-half years, or 1, 260 days).

Şi cele două aripi ale vulturului celui mare au fost date femeii, ca să zboare cu ele în pustie, în locul ei unde este hrănită o vreme, vremi, şi jumătatea unei vremei, departe de faţa şarpelui.

15 T hen out of his mouth the serpent spouted forth water like a flood after the woman, that she might be carried off with the torrent.

Atunci şarpele a aruncat din gură apă, ca un rîu, după femeie, ca s'o ia rîul.

16 B ut the earth came to the rescue of the woman, and the ground opened its mouth and swallowed up the stream of water which the dragon had spouted from his mouth.

Dar pămîntul a dat ajutor femeii. Pămîntul şi -a deschis gura, şi a înghiţit rîul, pe care -l aruncase balaurul din gură.

17 S o then the dragon was furious (enraged) at the woman, and he went away to wage war on the remainder of her descendants— who obey God’s commandments and who have the testimony of Jesus Christ '> bear witness to Him].

Şi balaurul, mîniat pe femeie, s'a dus să facă război cu rămăşiţa seminţei ei, cari păzesc poruncile lui Dumnezeu, şi ţin mărturia lui Isus Hristos.
