1 T hen said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Or egli disse ai suoi discepoli: «è impossibile che non avvengano scandali; ma guai a colui per colpa del quale avvengono!

2 I t were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Sarebbe meglio per lui che gli fosse messa al collo una macina da mulino e fosse gettato nel mare, piuttosto che scandalizzare uno solo di questi piccoli.

3 T ake heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

State attenti a voi stessi! Se tuo fratello pecca contro di te, riprendilo; e se si pente, perdonagli.

4 A nd if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

E se anche peccasse sette volte al giorno contro di te, e sette volte al giorno ritorna a te, dicendo: "Mi pento", perdonagli».

5 A nd the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

Allora gli apostoli dissero al Signore: «Accresci a noi la fede».

6 A nd the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

E il Signore disse: «Se aveste tanta fede quanto un granel di senape, potreste dire a questo gelso: "sradicati e trapiantati in mare" ed esso vi ubbidirebbe.

7 B ut which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

Ora chi di voi, se ha un servo ad arare o a pascolare il gregge gli dirà quando è tornato a casa dai campi: "Vieni subito a metterti a tavola"?

8 A nd will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

Non gli dirà piuttosto: "Preparami la cena, rimboccati le vesti e servimi affinché io abbia mangiato e bevuto, poi mangerai e berrai tu

9 D oth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

Ringrazierà forse quel servo perché ha fatto le cose che gli erano state comandate? Non lo penso.

10 S o likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Cosí anche voi, quando avrete fatto tutte le cose che vi sono comandate, dite: "Siamo servi inutili. Abbiamo fatto ciò che dovevamo fare".

11 A nd it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

Or avvenne che, nel suo cammino verso Gerusalemme, egli passò attraverso la Samaria e la Galilea.

12 A nd as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

E, come egli entrava in un certo villaggio, gli vennero incontro dieci uomini lebbrosi, i quali si fermarono a distanza,

13 A nd they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

e alzarono la voce, dicendo: «Maestro, Gesú, abbi pietà di noi».

14 A nd when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

Ed egli, vedutili, disse loro: «Andate a mostrarvi ai sacerdoti». E avvenne che, mentre se ne andavano, furono mondati.

15 A nd one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

E uno di loro, vedendosi guarito, tornò indietro glorificando Dio ad alta voce.

16 A nd fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

E si gettò con la faccia a terra ai piedi di Gesú, ringraziandolo. Or questi era un Samaritano.

17 A nd Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

Gesú allora prese a dire: «Non sono stati guariti tutti e dieci? Dove sono gli altri nove?

18 T here are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

Non si è trovato nessuno che sia ritornato per dare gloria a Dio, se non questo straniero?».

19 A nd he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

E disse a questi: «Alzati e va la tua fede a ti ha guarito».

20 A nd when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

Ora, interrogato dai farisei sul quando verrebbe il regno di Dio, rispose loro e disse: «Il regno di Dio non viene in maniera che si possa osservare

21 N either shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

né si dirà: "Eccolo quí" o: "Eccolo là", poiché, ecco, il regno di Dio è dentro di voi».

22 A nd he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

Poi disse ai suoi discepoli: «Verranno i giorni in cui desidererete vedere uno dei giorni del Figlio dell'uomo, ma non lo vedrete.

23 A nd they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

E vi si dirà: "Eccolo quí" o: "Eccolo là" non vi andate e non li seguite.

24 F or as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

Perché come il lampo che, guizzando da una estremità all'altra del cielo, illumina ogni cosa, cosí sarà anche il Figlio dell'uomo nel suo giorno.

25 B ut first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.

Ma prima è necessario che egli soffra molte cose e sia rigettato da questa generazione.

26 A nd as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

E, come avvenne ai giorni di Noé, cosí avverrà anche nei giorni del Figlio dell'uomo.

27 T hey did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Le persone mangiavano, bevevano, si ammogliavano e si maritavano, fino al giorno in cui Noé entrò nell'arca, e venne il diluvio e li fece perire tutti.

28 L ikewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Lo stesso avvenne anche ai giorni di Lot: la gente mangiava, beveva, comperava, vendeva, piantava ed edificava;

29 B ut the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

ma nel giorno in cui Lot uscí da Sodoma, piovve dal cielo fuoco e zolfo e li fece perire tutti.

30 E ven thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Cosí sarà nel giorno in cui il Figlio dell'uomo sarà manifestato.

31 I n that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

In quel giorno chi si troverà sul tetto della casa, non scenda in casa a prendere le sue cose; cosí pure chi si troverà nei campi, non torni indietro.

32 R emember Lot's wife.

Ricordatevi della moglie di Lot,

33 W hosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Chi cercherà di salvare la propria vita, la perderà; ma chi la perderà, la salverà.

34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Io Vi dico: In quella notte due saranno in un letto; l'uno sarà preso e l'altro lasciato,

35 T wo women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Due donne macineranno insieme; l'una sarà presa e l'altra lasciata.

36 T wo men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Due uomini saranno nei campi; l'uno sarà preso e l'altro lasciato».

37 A nd they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

I discepoli allora, rispondendo, gli dissero: «Dove Signore?» Ed egli disse loro: «Dove sarà il corpo, là si raduneranno le aquile»,
