1 J udge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

Fammi giustizia, o DIO e difendi la mia causa contro gente malvagia; liberami dall'uomo falso e perverso.

2 F or thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Poiché tu sei il DIO che mi dà forza, perché mi hai respinto? Perché vado in giro vestito a lutto per l'oppressione del nemico?

3 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

Manda la tua luce e la tua verità; mi guidino esse e mi conducano al tuo santo monte e al luogo della tua dimora.

4 T hen will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

Allora verrò all'altare di DIO, al Dio, che è la mia gioia e il mio giubilo; e ti celebrerò con la cetra, o DIO, DIO mio.

5 W hy art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Perché ti abbatti, anima mia, perché gemi dentro di me? Spera in DIO, perché io lo celebrerò ancora, perché egli è la mia salvezza e il mio DIO.
