1 a mo l'Eterno, perché egli ha dato ascolto alla mia voce e alle mie suppliche.

I love Jehovah, because he heareth My voice and my supplications.

2 P oiché ha teso verso di me il suo orecchio, io lo invocherò tutti i giorni della mia vita.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, Therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3 I legami della morte mi avevano circondato e le angosce dello Sceol mi avevano colto; sventura e dolore mi avevano sopraffatto.

The cords of death compassed me, And the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

4 A llora invocai il nome dell'Eterno: «O Eterno, ti supplico salvami».

Then called I upon the name of Jehovah: O Jehovah, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 L 'Eterno è pietoso e giusto, il nostro DIO è misericordioso.

Gracious is Jehovah, and righteous; Yea, our God is merciful.

6 L 'Eterno protegge i semplici; io ero ridotto in misero stato, ed egli mi ha salvato.

Jehovah preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he saved me.

7 R itorna, anima mia, al tuo riposo, perché l'Eterno ti ha colmata di beni.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; For Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 S í, perché tu hai liberato la mia vita dalla morte, i miei occhi dalle lacrime e i miei piedi da cadute.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, Mine eyes from tears, And my feet from falling.

9 I o camminerò alla presenza dell'Eterno nella terra dei viventi.

I will walk before Jehovah In the land of the living.

10 h o creduto e perciò parlo, ero grandemente afflitto,

I believe, for I will speak: I was greatly afflicted:

11 e dicevo nel mio smarrimento: «Ogni uomo è bugiardo».

I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12 C he darò all'Eterno in cambio di tutti i benefici che mi ha fatto?

What shall I render unto Jehovah For all his benefits toward me?

13 I o alzerò il calice della salvezza, e invocherò il nome dell'Eterno.

I will take the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of Jehovah.

14 A dempirò i miei voti all'Eterno in presenza di tutto il suo popolo.

I will pay my vows unto Jehovah, Yea, in the presence of all his people.

15 E ' preziosa agli occhi dell'Eterno la morte dei suoi santi.

Precious in the sight of Jehovah Is the death of his saints.

16 I o sono veramente il tuo servo, o Eterno, sono il tuo servo, il figlio della tua serva; tu hai sciolto i miei legami.

O Jehovah, truly I am thy servant: I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid; Thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 t i offrirò un sacrificio di ringraziamento e invocherò il nome dell'Eterno.

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of Jehovah.

18 A dempirò i miei voti all'Eterno in presenza di tutto il suo popolo.

I will pay my vows unto Jehovah, Yea, in the presence of all his people,

19 n ei cortili della casa dell'Eterno, in mezzo a te, o Gerusalemme. Alleluia.

In the courts of Jehovah's house, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.
