1 L 'Eterno regna, tremino i popoli. Egli siede sopra i Cherubini tremi la terra.

Jehovah reigneth; let the peoples tremble: He sitteth above the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

2 L 'Eterno è grande in Sion ed eccelso su tutti i popoli.

Jehovah is great in Zion; And he is high above all the peoples.

3 E ssi celebreranno il tuo nome grande e tremendo. Egli è santo.

Let them praise thy great and terrible name: Holy is he.

4 I l Re è potente e ama la giustizia. Sei tu che hai stabilito il diritto e hai esercitato in Giacobbe giudizio e giustizia.

The king's strength also loveth justice; Thou dost establish equity; Thou executest justice and righteousness in Jacob.

5 E saltate l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, e prostratevi davanti allo sgabello dei suoi piedi. Egli è santo.

Exalt ye Jehovah our God, And worship at his footstool: Holy is he.

6 M osè ed Aaronne furono fra i suoi sacerdoti, e Samuele fra quelli che invocarono il suo nome, essi invocarono l'Eterno ed egli rispose loro.

Moses and Aaron among his priests, And Samuel among them that call upon his name; They called upon Jehovah, and he answered them.

7 E gli parlò loro dalla colonna della nuvola, ed essi osservarono le sue testimonianze e gli statuti che diede loro.

He spake unto them in the pillar of cloud: They kept his testimonies, And the statute that he gave them.

8 T u li esaudisti, o Eterno, nostro DIO. Tu fosti per loro un DIO che perdona, pur castigando i loro misfatti.

Thou answeredst them, O Jehovah our God: Thou wast a God that forgavest them, Though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.

9 E saltate l'Eterno il nostro DIO, e adorate sul suo monte santo, perché l'Eterno il nostro DIO, è santo.

Exalt ye Jehovah our God, And worship at his holy hill; For Jehovah our God is holy.
