1 D eliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

Señor, líbrame de los malvados; ¡protégeme de los violentos!

2 W hich imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

3 T hey have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 K eep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

Señor, ¡protégeme de la gente malvada! ¡Líbrame de la gente violenta, que quiere hacerme caer!

5 T he proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

Son gente soberbia, que me tiende trampas; gente que a mi paso pone redes con la intención de hacerme tropezar.

6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

Yo, Señor, declaro que tú eres mi Dios; ¡dígnate, Señor, prestar oído a mi súplica!

7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Tú, Señor mi Dios, eres mi poderoso salvador; ¡tú me proteges en el día de la batalla!

8 G rant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

¡No permitas, Señor, que triunfen los malvados! ¡Frustra sus planes! ¡Que no se sientan superiores!

9 A s for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

En cuanto a los malvados que me rodean, ¡que su propia maldad los destruya!

10 L et burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

¡Que caigan sobre ellos carbones encendidos! ¡Que sean arrojados al fuego! ¡Que caigan en un foso profundo y no vuelvan a salir!

11 L et not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

¡Que esos mentirosos no afiancen su poder! ¡Que el mal alcance y derribe a los violentos!

12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

Yo sé que tú, Señor, defiendes a los pobres y les haces justicia a los afligidos.

13 S urely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Por eso los hombres justos y rectos alaban tu nombre y vivirán en tu presencia.
