1 W ould to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

2 F or I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

El celo que muestro por ustedes proviene de Dios; ustedes son como una doncella pura, a la que he comprometido en matrimonio con un solo esposo, que es Cristo.

3 B ut I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Pero me temo que, así como la serpiente engañó a Eva con su astucia, así también los sentidos de ustedes sean de alguna manera apartados de la sincera fidelidad a Cristo;

4 F or if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

porque si alguno llega predicando a un Jesús diferente del que les hemos predicado, o si ustedes reciben a otro espíritu diferente del que han recibido, u otro evangelio diferente del que han aceptado, ustedes lo toleran bien.

5 F or I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

Pero yo considero que en nada he sido inferior a esos grandes apóstoles.

6 B ut though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

Tal vez sea yo torpe al hablar, pero no lo soy en cuanto al conocimiento; de esto les hemos dado muestra en todo y por todo.

7 H ave I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?

¿Acaso cometí un pecado al humillarme a mí mismo y al predicarles el evangelio de Dios gratuitamente, para que ustedes fueran enaltecidos?

8 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

He despojado a otras iglesias, al recibir un salario para servirles a ustedes.

9 A nd when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.

Y cuando estaba entre ustedes y tuve necesidad, no fui una carga para nadie, pues lo que me faltaba lo suplieron los hermanos que vinieron de Macedonia. Procuré entonces no ser una carga para ustedes, y seguiré haciéndolo así.

10 A s the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

Por la verdad de Cristo que está en mí, no se me impedirá tener este motivo de orgullo en las regiones de Acaya.

11 W herefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.

¿Y por qué? ¿Acaso porque no los amo? ¡Dios sabe que sí!

12 B ut what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

Pero seguiré haciendo lo que hago, para que los que quieren vanagloriarse no tengan ningún pretexto para hacerse semejantes a nosotros.

13 F or such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

Porque ellos son falsos apóstoles, obreros fraudulentos que se disfrazan de apóstoles de Cristo.

14 A nd no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Y esto no debe sorprendernos, porque hasta Satanás mismo se disfraza de ángel de luz.

15 T herefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Así que, tampoco es una sorpresa que sus ministros se disfracen de administradores de justicia, pero como sus obras será su fin. Sufrimientos de Pablo como apóstol

16 I say again, let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.

17 T hat which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

Al decir esto, no lo digo en conformidad con el Señor, sino como una locura mía, confiado en mi vanagloria.

18 S eeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

Puesto que muchos se vanaglorian según los criterios humanos, también yo puedo vanagloriarme.

19 F or ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.

Ustedes, aunque cuerdos, toleran de buena gana a los necios.

20 F or ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

Toleran a quienes los esclavizan, a quienes los devoran, a quienes les quitan lo suyo, a quienes se sienten importantes, a quienes les dan de bofetadas.

21 I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.

Lo digo para vergüenza mía: ¡para eso fuimos demasiado débiles! Pero si otros tienen el descaro de vanagloriarse (hablo como un loco), también yo puedo hacerlo.

22 A re they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

¿Son hebreos? Yo también. ¿Son israelitas? Yo también. ¿Son descendientes de Abrahán? Yo también.

23 A re they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

¿Son ministros de Cristo? (Hablo como si estuviera loco.) Yo lo soy más. Mis trabajos son más abundantes; mis azotes, innumerables; mis encarcelamientos, muchos más; muchas veces he estado en peligro de muerte.

24 O f the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

Cinco veces he recibido de los judíos treinta y nueve azotes;

25 T hrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

Tres veces he sido azotado con varas; una vez he sido apedreado; tres veces he padecido naufragio; una noche y un día he estado como náufrago en alta mar.

26 I n journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

Son muchas las veces que he estado de viaje corriendo peligros de ríos, peligros de ladrones, peligros de mi propia gente, peligros de los no judíos, peligros en la ciudad, peligros en el desierto, peligros en el mar, peligros entre falsos hermanos.

27 I n weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

He pasado por muchos trabajos y fatigas; muchas veces me he quedado sin dormir; he sufrido de hambre y de sed; muchas veces no he comido, y he pasado frío y desnudez.

28 B eside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

Además de todo esto, lo que cada día pesa sobre mí es la preocupación por todas las iglesias.

29 W ho is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?

¿Quién enferma, y yo no enfermo? ¿A quién se le hace tropezar, y yo no me indigno?

30 I f I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

Si es necesario vanagloriarse, lo haré en aquello que demuestre mi debilidad.

31 T he God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

El Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, ¡bendito sea por siempre!, sabe que no miento.

32 I n Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me:

En Damasco, el gobernador de la provincia del rey Aretas vigilaba la ciudad de los damascenos para arrestarme,

33 A nd through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

pero fui descolgado en un canasto por una ventana de la muralla, y así me libré de caer en sus manos.
