1 H old not thy peace, O God of my praise;

Dios de mi alabanza, ¡no te quedes callado!

2 F or the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

Gente malvada y mentirosa habla en contra mía, y con sus mentiras me calumnia.

3 T hey compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

Con palabras llenas de odio me persiguen, y pelean contra mí sin tener motivo.

4 F or my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Yo los trato con amor, y ellos me pagan con odio; ¡pero yo sigo orando por ellos!

5 A nd they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

Les hago un bien y me pagan con un mal; me tratan con odio, aunque yo los amo.

6 S et thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

¡Que lo juzgue un juez injusto! ¡Que el maligno lo condene!

7 W hen he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

¡Que sea declarado culpable! ¡Que su oración revele su maldad!

8 L et his days be few; and let another take his office.

¡Que sus años de vida se reduzcan, y que otro se quede con su oficio!

9 L et his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

¡Que se queden huérfanos sus hijos! ¡Que se quede viuda su mujer!

10 L et his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

¡Que sus hijos se queden sin techo, y que mendiguen el pan lejos de sus ruinas!

11 L et the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

¡Que sus acreedores les quiten todos sus bienes! ¡Que gente extraña los despoje de sus posesiones!

12 L et there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

¡Que nadie tenga de él misericordia! ¡Que nadie compadezca a sus huérfanos!

13 L et his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

¡Que no quede rastro de sus descendientes! ¡Que su nombre sea borrado de la generación siguiente!

14 L et the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

Señor, ¡no olvides la maldad de su padre! ¡Ten presente el pecado de su madre!

15 L et them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

Señor, ¡no pases por alto su maldad, y borra de la tierra su memoria!

16 B ecause that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

Porque éste se olvidó de la misericordia, y persiguió hasta darle muerte al miserable que sufre y tiene roto el corazón.

17 A s he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

Ya que amó la maldición, ¡que sea maldito! Despreció la bendición, ¡que nunca sea bendecido!

18 A s he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

La maldad lo envolvió como un manto; como agua, penetró en todo su ser; como aceite, le caló hasta los huesos.

19 L et it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

¡Pues que lo envuelva la maldad como un manto, y que lo oprima para siempre como un cinto!

20 L et this be the reward of mine adversaries from the Lord, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

¡Así les pague el Señor a los que me acusan, a los que me calumnian y buscan mi mal!

21 B ut do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

Pero tú, mi Señor y Dios, ¡trátame bien por causa de tu nombre! Por tu bondad y misericordia, ¡sálvame!

22 F or I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

Te necesito, pues estoy muy afligido; mi corazón tiene profundas heridas.

23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.

Siento que me muero, como muere el día; soy sacudido como una langosta.

24 M y knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

Las rodillas se me doblan por causa del ayuno, estoy tan débil que mi cuerpo desfallece.

25 I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.

Soy para la gente objeto de burla; los que me ven, mueven burlones la cabeza.

26 H elp me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

Señor y Dios mío, ¡ayúdame!; por tu gran misericordia, ¡sálvame!

27 T hat they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, hast done it.

Así sabrán que esto viene de tu mano, y que eres tú, Señor, quien me ha salvado.

28 L et them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.

No importa que me maldigan, ¡bendíceme tú! Podrán atacarme, pero quedarán avergonzados, mientras que este siervo tuyo se regocijará.

29 L et mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.

Cubre de vergüenza a los que me critican; ¡que la confusión los envuelva como un manto!

30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

Yo te alabaré, Señor, con mucho gozo; ¡te cantaré en medio de una gran multitud!

31 F or he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

Porque defiendes al que nada tiene, y lo libras de quienes lo condenan a muerte.
